As expected, the standard of the room and service from the staff was exceptional. The room was fine but there was a distinct mouldy odour in the 12th floor lift lobby and corridor that was a bit off putting.

Wish we had stayed longer. However, I did have a bad experience at breakfast. I am allergic to mushrooms and the chicken fried rice did not list mushrooms as an ingredient and the chefs too mentioned that it did not have mushrooms but I found mushrooms in the dish and pointed it out to the chefs. Please educate the staff who work with food about the dangers of allergies. An anaphylactic person can die form eating the wrong food

Upgraded to club floor and access to club due to platinium membership. Lobby lounge was flexible - allowed us to bring the wine up to the room. Same as club, who prepared my hot chocolate in a takeaway cup to consume in the room as I arrived when it was closing. Checked in late on Friday night and did not use club on Sat (morning to late evening) - front office was also flexible enough to allow access on Sunday full afternoon as late checkout was only till 1pm. Welcome amenities is great. As it was a staycation as locals, to drive in and out of the carpark within 24hrs become a hassle

I had a comfortable stay but for Sofitel, I expected more. I understand that early check-ins are based on availability and I acknowledged that. We got back to the hotel at 3PM only to find out that the minibar was not stocked, the welcome amenity was delayed, and the coffee pods were missing. I let this slide because mistakes happen. What I could not let slide was question my integrity— Singapore is humid, everyone knows that. When I asked for water at the concierge waiting for our GrabCar, the associate asked for my room number. I could not remember my room number so I gave the floor and my last name; he was hesitant and asked, “are you sure you are a guest?” I did not want to cause a scene so I humbly asked for a bottle of water once again and asked for my room number once again. He reluctantly gave me the water I asked for and when my partner arrived, I showed him my key card. Prejudice? Perhaps. And on check out, and for whatever reason there could possibly be, on the way to the airport, the GrabCar started smelling like my perfume. Voila, when we got to the airport, one of my perfume bottles was broken. I made an enquiry to their team asking for a report on transition of my luggages from lobby to concierge, they could not qualify that the damage was caused by them— again, I can’t find fault them for their findings but I can’t reasonably deny that this was damaged in the car. Whilst the stay was amazing, there are lapses to the service that, IMO, could have been handled better.

They asked me whether I wanted my room cleaned daily or every other day. I chose daily, but after the first night, it wasn't cleaned. So I called the desk and told them that I wanted my room cleaned in an hour from then (I had planned to leave the room after an hour), but this time the cleaning lady came immediately. There was just too much miscommunication within the system.
