It's hard to know where to begin. But Raffles Singapore is the best hotel I have ever visited, and I've stayed at hundreds of hotels in the last fifty years. The impeccably perfect staff; the attention to detail; the opulent décor and the very sincere wish to make every guest feel special at home is quite extraordinary. I would never stay anywhere else in Singapore.

The staff takes extra care to understand the needs of the residents. Magic Hour was performed during our stay. The staff took extra effort to accommodate the needs of my elderly mother so that she could appreciate the performance from the comfort of the 2nd floor corridors. They even managed to find a portable fan for the corridor which became quite hot and stuffy in the afternoon heat. This extra care for such an extra-ordinary request really exemplifies the brand and brought extra joy to the whole stay and experience.

It's hard to know where to begin. But Raffles Singapore is the best hotel I have ever visited, and I've stayed at hundreds of hotels in the last fifty years. The staff takes extra care to understand the needs of the residents. Magic Hour was performed during our stay. The staff took extra effort to accommodate the needs of my elderly mother so that she could appreciate the performance from the comfort of the 2nd floor corridors. They even managed to find a portable fan for the corridor which became quite hot and stuffy in the afternoon heat. This extra care for such an extra-ordinary request really exemplifies the brand and brought extra joy to the whole stay and experience.

We had a wonderful stay, and the hotel made my wife’s birthday truly special. They thoughtfully prepared a beautiful fruit platter designed like a birthday cake, which was perfect for her to enjoy during pregnancy, and also decorated our bed beautifully. The attention to detail and exceptional service were truly heartwarming. All of the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, making our stay extremely comfortable and memorable. It was the perfect way to spend our stopover in Singapore after our four week holiday in Africa. Raffles is history, tradition, comfort and opulence and we experienced all that with service that was second to none.
Dinner at yi by Jeremy Leung was delicious amid its gorgeous setting followed by a restful bath drawn by Ling our Butler and a comfortable sleep. Our morning was unrushed and relaxed due to the noon checkout and we savoured our time over breakfast.
After checkout, we continued to enjoy the surroundings and facilities until it was time to go to the airport including a couple of hours of serenity in the Library, a wonderful historical walking tour with Rosalee, time in the Long Bar enjoying a Singapore Sling and then a light meal in the Courtyard.
A must do, one in a lifetime experience. Thankyou to all the staff who ensured we felt valued, comfortable and welcome.

I have visited Singapore several times, but for various reasons had never had the opportunity to stay at Raffles Singapore. This time, I finally had the chance to spend a few days at this iconic hotel.
The hotel lives up to its reputation: beautifully situated in the heart of Singapore, it has been very well renovated while retaining its colonial character and old-world charm. My room was on the first floor, overlooking the Palm Court. This was pleasant and also rather convenient, as it was close to the lounge and the Tiffin Room, where breakfast is served. The room was quite spacious for a city hotel, although I found it somewhat sombre.
Raffles has several restaurants, including the newly awarded two-Michelin-starred 1887. Unfortunately, it has a rather unusual booking policy: it does not accept reservations for an odd number of guests unless you pay for an even number. In our case, for example, there were three of us, but we were required to book — and pay for — four. I find this policy rather difficult to understand for a hotel of this standing.
The other fine-dining restaurant, Yì by Jereme Leung, serves Chinese cuisine. The food was very good, although, in my view, it is not yet at Michelin-star level.
Overall, Raffles Singapore certainly lives up to its reputation. However, I would place it one notch below Four Seasons when it comes to personalization and knowledge of its guests. At a Four Seasons, almost everyone I encounter seems to know my name and greet me accordingly, as though I were a long-standing guest. I have never quite understood how they manage to achieve this so consistently, but it is always a particularly pleasant touch.
Raffles is an exceptional and historic hotel, but Four Seasons still sets a higher benchmark for personalized service.

It was incredible, the service and experience was amazing. Our room felt very homey and cozy. Everything was so clean and organized. The small details like the placement of light switches, unique chocolates that were given to us, and the cable ties for our chargers. When I arrived the room I had booked was not available (state room). I was told I was upgraded but in fact it was a room that was smaller and on the ground floor with no light. I know the smaller rooms on the ground floor are more expensive than the one I booked. I do not understand why as they are smaller and darker; I had worked this out when I booked and had deliberately avoided the smaller ground floor rooms - that is not an upgrade. What is more, initalliy the lady from reception attempted to mislead me by saying the room I had booked had no windows but to conceal the fact that the room I had booked was given to someone else. I then went back to reception questioning the misleading information, I was told the truth. A room in the residence was eventually offered to me which was a lot nicer but outside the main part of the hotel. I felt I was exiled to the outskirts of the hotel - the living room was on the main Road and didn’t feel special at all, the lift was right in the middle of tons of tourists and upstairs next to the security exit.
The butler system was also not good. We asked on arrival at 7 pm to organise for our dinner the news day as it needed to be booked 24h in advance - that wasn’t done until the next morning after I chased twice (would have been easier and less stressful to do it online). I also asked the butler to arrange a driver from Singapore to Mersing. He said « of course « but nothing happened at all - I did it myself in the end via the hotel I was staying at next who gave me relevant contacts but this was so underwhelming. In sum, the Raffles Singapore is a tourist trap and the service is bad. When I come back either for work or leisure I’ll go to the Mandarin. Never Again!

Your comments regarding the butler service are equally concerning. The failure to follow through on your restaurant reservation request in a timely manner, despite repeated follow-up, as well as the lack of assistance with your transportation arrangements, is clearly not the level of responsiveness and ownership that we aim to deliver. We understand how disappointing this must have been, particularly when you were relying on our team to assist with important arrangements during your stay.

From second one my stay at the exceptional Raffles Hotel in Singapore wax truly outstanding. I could not have felt more welcomed. I first ‘stepped - well carried - into Raffles as a baby in 1967/68 and had not been back since.
Colleagues quickly understood my ‘pilgrimage’ passion and maximised my experience.
The doormen, a joy to behold, the concierge team consistently wow, never anything was too much trouble, and every day I had breakfast (9 in total) the colleagues there were excellence personified.Absolutely.
I also had one incident that just sums up Raffles away from the exceptional grandeur that just blows the mind away.
I had a morning trip by taxi to The Gardens by the Bay, which I very much looked forward to. On exiting the taxi and watching it drive off I quickly realised my mobile phone had slipped out of my pocket and was in the back of the taxi. A total disaster mid way through my holiday.
I took a taxi back to Raffles and was quite distraught (I was a solo traveller) as I explained what had happened to Narendra on the door. He positively calmed me down and said he’d sort it for me. Within 20 minutes he did just that. Not at all with I told you so attitude it was just absolutely smiling and simply saying (without saying) ‘that’s just what we do for our customers’.
Anyway Narendra and all the utterly outstanding colleagues at Raffles, just thanks. Could not have been a better experience and, for sure, will not be such a gap in years when I return again.
