Great hotel — if you don’t actually want to use it. The room and facilities are excellent, and breakfast is very good. The ladies serving breakfast are also genuinely lovely and deserve a mention. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives rather end. What the hotel conveniently forgets to tell you is that, despite paying €700 for two nights, you may not actually be able to sit on your own terrace and enjoy the views. The terraces are overrun with non-residents, leaving paying guests struggling to find somewhere to sit. When we did manage to order drinks, they took 25 minutes to arrive. To make matters worse, there was a party on both Friday and Saturday nights, meaning the lower terrace was unavailable to hotel guests. The booming music continued until at least midnight. So, a hotel that is wonderful during the day becomes something of a nightmare in the evening. It’s difficult to understand why you pay €700 for two nights, only to discover that the facilities you have paid to use are effectively unavailable to you. Great during the day. A nightmare in the evenings. If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful where paying guests actually get priority, choose elsewhere.

At the first night my partner woke up at 4am with a big rush on his skin, we were scared it was bad bugs, later on turns out there were no insects, we are still not sure what caused it , maybe detergents used for the bed sheet. The next morning we were woken up at 7am as somebody was moving the trash boxes - the noise lasted 15 minutes. The breakfast was ok, but arriving at 9:30 we heard that there is not much thing left as it’s late + the were no vegetables as there was not delivery at that date… a little bit dissapointing experience

What I particularly like about Fort St Laurent is its amazing location and breathtaking views, combined with the charm of the historic building. I also really like the very minimalist design of the rooms, which suits my personal taste perfectly. The Sothys bath amenities are excellent, the breakfast is of very high quality, and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. It is a place I genuinely look forward to returning to whenever I am in Lyon.

Reception staff too busy having a chat to actually welcome and greet paying guest. Car park is not as it’s described and has extra charge and it’s not secure on site. Our room had half eaten cheese in the fridge drinks and snacks it was not clean.. it’s a shame because it’s a great location Lovely comfortable beds and the breakfast was outstanding

The service of the bar that is open to the public could have been better. The first night they didn't explain to me that we could be served on the private terrace of the hotel. The staff of the bar was a bit you and unexperienced. The rest was impeccable.

The drain of the shower was not working such that it had to be sorted out late at night. While the staff did everything they could to sort it out with minimal fuss, it did mean that it wad not an amazing experience. Sorry

Hotel is located at the heart of the Croix rousse, with an amazing view on the city. Don’t miss the lounge terrace outside with one of the best view on Lyon. Our room was big with also a great view, in comparison the bathroom was pretty small. The breakfast is really of high quality with local products, should not be missed too ! Staff was nice too !
