That said, several aspects of your stay clearly fell short of the level of comfort and service you expected from a four-star property, and we are sorry about this. Your comments regarding the condition of the walls and, in particular, the humidity and mould in the bathroom are concerning. We also understand your disappointment regarding the arrangements for your dog. As explained in our previous exchange, the €22 nightly pet fee primarily covers the additional cleaning required after stays with pets. After spending the previous weeks in ho-hum accommodations, to arrive at the FsL we were blown away by how lovely and yet comfortable it was. My wide used the spa and had only great things to say. The neighborhood is fantastic to explore on foot.

Very nice renovation and location, the view over the city is outstanding and the historical building is astonishing. However the service and the refinement of the room were not at the level of a 4-star hotel to me. Too simple furniture, damaged walls and humidity in the bathroom. Fee of 22€/night for the dog but no service with it. The value for money is not so good, maybe worth going only for lunch, dinner or drinks if you want to enjoy the view.

Stayed here for 3 nights in September 26 with my husband and was really looking forward to the trip was we were staying in a junior superior suite and the pictures looked lovely, but do not believe it was worth the money we paid. Upon arrival the room needed some maintenance and more attention to detail. The rug was stained and once cream, but now grey, there were long black hairs all over the floor, the paint was peeling off the ceiling in the bathroom and the shower gel had run out. There was also a panel in the bedroom area covered with cardboard and tape. Nothing wrong with checkin or staff on site, and was a 10 to 15 minute walk from everything.

The staff were great and the view is lovely. After that, everything else is below average. Our room was quite small with the toilet at one side of the room and the sink about 5 metres away on the opposite wall so you had to walk all the way across the room, skirting around the bed, to wash your hands. Then the corner of the room was taken up with the shower. Meaning there was no bathroom area to towel off. The electronics were ‘quirky’ still not totally sure how the lights worked and the sockets were not in handy places like by the bed. The wifi just didn’t work. Quite frankly I’ve had much better rooms at holiday inn at a fraction of the cost we paid and I’m thankful we only stayed for one night. Breakfast was a nice selection however we asked for gluten free bread. While this wasn’t a problem in itself, by the time the 3 rock hard tiny loaves came we had long finished our meal. Overall the experience was not worth €150 never mind the €220 we had to pay. If you want to see the view go for a drink on the terrace but don’t waste money staying - it adds nothing to your experience.

Great hotel — if you don’t actually want to use it. The room and facilities are excellent, and breakfast is very good. The ladies serving breakfast are also genuinely lovely and deserve a mention. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives rather end. What the hotel conveniently forgets to tell you is that, despite paying €700 for two nights, you may not actually be able to sit on your own terrace and enjoy the views. The terraces are overrun with non-residents, leaving paying guests struggling to find somewhere to sit. When we did manage to order drinks, they took 25 minutes to arrive. To make matters worse, there was a party on both Friday and Saturday nights, meaning the lower terrace was unavailable to hotel guests. The booming music continued until at least midnight. So, a hotel that is wonderful during the day becomes something of a nightmare in the evening. It’s difficult to understand why you pay €700 for two nights, only to discover that the facilities you have paid to use are effectively unavailable to you. Great during the day. A nightmare in the evenings. If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful where paying guests actually get priority, choose elsewhere.

At the first night my partner woke up at 4am with a big rush on his skin, we were scared it was bad bugs, later on turns out there were no insects, we are still not sure what caused it , maybe detergents used for the bed sheet. The next morning we were woken up at 7am as somebody was moving the trash boxes - the noise lasted 15 minutes. The breakfast was ok, but arriving at 9:30 we heard that there is not much thing left as it’s late + the were no vegetables as there was not delivery at that date… a little bit dissapointing experience

What I particularly like about Fort St Laurent is its amazing location and breathtaking views, combined with the charm of the historic building. I also really like the very minimalist design of the rooms, which suits my personal taste perfectly. The Sothys bath amenities are excellent, the breakfast is of very high quality, and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. It is a place I genuinely look forward to returning to whenever I am in Lyon.

Reception staff too busy having a chat to actually welcome and greet paying guest. Car park is not as it’s described and has extra charge and it’s not secure on site. Our room had half eaten cheese in the fridge drinks and snacks it was not clean.. it’s a shame because it’s a great location Lovely comfortable beds and the breakfast was outstanding

We were very impressed with the location and accommodation, and the staff. It was a bit expensive (one night 400 euros +)
