An easy place to stay, near the Gare part dieu, but a wee bit of a walk to get there. Avoid walking alone from Westfield through the slightly dodgy area up on the roof around the auditorium-orchestre. Better to come out onto Rue Servient. I missed having cups of tea available.

That was the first night of the overall trip we made in France for 2 weeks. An old style Ibis Hotel, would need a "refresh". The rooms were a bit little and essential.

Beds comfy, though two singles pushed together rather than a double as requested. Only stayed one night enroute elsewhere. Walkable to local bus/trams and Part Dieu station. Air conditioning in our room was not very effective but was ok in the other room we booked, mentioned at check out.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel apart from finding parking for our van which ended up costing an additional €18. The staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful. Food in the evening was disappointing, steak overcooked (taken off bill and burger as replacement which was very good). Again, staff were very good about this. Room small but comfortable and coffee/tea provided. Overall we would consider staying here again because of area and people.

The location of the Ibis Hotel was perfect. It's very close to the train station close to the mall. Close to restaurants. Close to shops. I couldn't have asked for better. I particularly valued that the window in my room could be opened. I liked waking up with the sounds of the street below me. To me it was unclear, how to reach the hotel with bus or taxi from the part Dieu station. The hotel is located not far from the station, however, if you are unwel or elderly, you still may wish to use public transport instead of waking.

Good location, friendly staff, all good except that the room was very small. Also the bar television wasn't working to watch the world cup football, and it closed at midnight halfway through a game.

Hotel has a decent size room with air conditioning and. Their personnel is extremely friendly and helpful. Location: depending on how fast you walk, it’s about 15 to 20 minutes walk from the train station. Could be at least 5 minutes less, but it is unfortunate that someone decided to build a Westfield shopping center and made impossible for pedestrians to take direct(and the shortest) route. There are 2 passways underneath of shopping center: one for the cars and another one for public transportation. The one for the cars has no sidewalk at all. The other one has a sidewalk. However, it is narrows and I doubt that anyone with the luggage will be able to use it. Plus, it’s dark there and it seems like it’s the preferred place for homeless(there is a chance that you can go straight through the shopping center, but I didn’t tried it). You can take a public transport, but the stop, closest to the hotel - and depending on how fast you walk- is about 3 to 5 minutes walk from the hotel. If you have a light luggage, it probably would be faster just walk as - most likely- you’ll have to wait a few minutes for the public transport to arrive. Bed was Ok, but not as comfortable as it looked(and I was hoping it would be). Shower is kind of small, but biggest problem: it has holes in the middle of glass doors(so you could open and close it). However, when you are taking a shower, water is going through those holes and creating a small pool outside of shower. Therefore, when you are taking a shower, you are trying to make sure that there is no pool outside of shower doors. Also- it could be just me- I don’t like that a good old soap bar is replaced by liquid 3-1 soap. I’ve also discovered that I was sharing bathroom with ants(I think it was ants). Didn’t see them on the day of arrival as I just dropped my stuff and left, didn’t really see them in the morning, but I saw them when I’ve returned. I was unable to report it right away as I went downstairs, but nobody was at the front desk. Didn’t felt like waiting as I was beat up after day of sightseeing. I’ve reported in the morning, during check out. Hope those ants are going to be taking care of… As for the question whether or not I’ll be staying there again- if I’ll be visiting Lyon again, I really doubt that I’ll be visiting Lyon again. I will be considering staying in this hotel again

Regarding the access from the train station, we understand your comments and the difficulties you experienced with the route. Our location near Lyon Part-Dieu station is usually appreciated by our guests, but we are aware that the pedestrian paths around the shopping center can sometimes make the journey less straightforward than expected, especially with luggage. We regret that this aspect affected your arrival experience. We have also taken note of your remarks concerning the comfort of the bed, the size and design of the shower, as well as the bathroom amenities.
