Somewhat basic but nonetheless functional hotel conveniently located only a few minutes' walk from Part-Dieu train station, Westfield Part-Dieu and the Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse. All staff members that we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The reception/bar area has a free pinball machine, foosball table and snooker table, which is a nice touch. My teenage son and I stayed in a standard twin bed room. The room was tiny and was just about adequate for us with two small hand luggage size suitcases. Everything from entering the room to manoeuvring the bathroom was a squeeze though. The aircon unit in our room was not in the best shape and we had to have it on the coldest and strongest possible setting all night for the room to be bearable. Having said that, it was unreasonably hot at the time (35 degrees during the say) so maybe the aircon has been having to work harder than usual. Overall, the hotel did the trick for us as an affordable no-frills place to sleep.

The decoration of the hotel was pretty nice. The room was a little smaller than usual. Even though our towels were on the hanger, they were changed every day.

All of us had comfortable, well-appointed rooms and the beds were exceptionally clean and comfortable. But it was the kindness, helpfulness and friendliness of the staff at reception which made our stay 'special'. They could not have done more to help and serve us, in a manner that made us feel they enjoyed their work and really wanted us to have an enjoyable stay. This made us feel very welcome. The staff member in charge of the breakfast buffet was very zealous in checking that everyone had paid and was entitled to eat there. Quite reasonable in principle, but we did occasionally feel like we were being subjected to an 'inquisition'!

the bath sink was blocked. The room is extremely small. The smallest standard room I have ever been seen. The furnitures are quite old. Location is OK
