We had a very good stay at The Crown Hotel. The location is excellent, the hotel is clean, and the rooms are a great size. The beds were really comfortable, the showers lovely, and the bathrooms nice and spacious. We were travelling with friends, and the only thing missing was a proper bar – after a long day visiting Auschwitz we were really in need of a good drink, but struggled to find a decent beer back at the hotel. Breakfast was fine and did the job, but nothing special. My husband and I both ordered omelettes – his was perfect, but mine turned up as scrambled eggs with all the omelette toppings mixed in. A small thing, but not ideal if (like me) you can’t stand scrambled eggs 🤣. One other point – the hotel advertises a free airport shuttle on the website, but when I tried to book it I was told it had to be pre-arranged. This wasn’t mentioned anywhere, and I was never given the option to book it in advance. It wasn’t a big problem as the taxi to the airport was only 51 PLN, but if the service isn’t actually available, it would be better not to advertise it. Overall though, these were minor gripes and wouldn’t put me off staying again. The Crown Hotel is a lovely base, and Krakow itself is a fantastic city – well worth a visit!

The Crown Krakow has a pretty good location with easy access to the city center (short walk) and the airport. There are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby, and the room itself was comfortable with a nice shower and good water pressure. Unfortunately, the housekeeping was very disappointing. We booked for three people, but every day after housekeeping, only two sets of towels, water bottles, and coffee cups/mugs were provided. On the first day, we called to request the missing set of towels, were told they would arrive by 7 PM, but after coming back from dinner (around 9 PM) nothing was there — so we had to call again. On the second day, the same issue happened and we had to ask again. On the third day, despite leaving early at 5.15 AM and putting up the sign, our room wasn’t cleaned at all when we came back at 3 PM. Since it was our last night, we simply asked for some water and coffee and skipped housekeeping altogether. For a 4-star Accor hotel, this is far below the standard I’ve experienced elsewhere. We didn’t feel welcome, especially since amenities for three guests were consistently reduced to two, even though we paid for three. Because of this, I cannot recommend staying here.
