Extremely disappointing stay – not the Ibis standard I expected We booked two rooms for four nights, and unfortunately, this was by far the worst Ibis hotel I have ever stayed in. I have stayed in more than 15 Ibis hotels around the world, and I have never experienced anything like this. To start with the positives, the location is excellent. The hotel is very central, right next to Galeria Krakowska and surrounded by plenty of shops and restaurants. Our check-in was also smooth, easy, and friendly – absolutely no issues there. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end. The hotel and rooms feel extremely outdated. The furniture is old and the rooms clearly need significant renovation and attention. If you simply need somewhere to sleep and do not care much about the surroundings, then perhaps it is acceptable. However, I would not recommend staying here for several days, as the overall environment is simply not pleasant or comfortable. There was also an unpleasant smell in the rooms after they had been cleaned. It did not give the impression of a fresh, welcoming hotel room. Having stayed in many Ibis hotels before, I can honestly say that this did not feel like the standard I normally associate with the brand. We did not try the hotel breakfast, as we chose to eat elsewhere. Another disappointment was that there were no tea or coffee facilities in the room. When I asked at reception about this, I was told rather bluntly that these facilities were only available for “premium” guests and that I would have to pay more. It was not so much the policy that bothered me, but the attitude and the way it was communicated. A simple, polite explanation would have made a big difference. The next day, I spoke with the manager and explained that I found the receptionist’s attitude rude and unwelcoming. To be fair, the manager himself was very polite and pleasant, and I appreciated that. Overall, however, the hotel did not feel welcoming or hospitable. There was very little warmth or customer service, and at times it felt as though the staff simply did not care about the guest experience. Our check-out experience was another example. We left early in the morning and went to reception, where the staff member was eating breakfast. When I asked where I could check out, I was simply told to leave the keys on the desk. That was it. Again, this is not the level of customer service I would expect from an international hotel chain. In conclusion, I would not recommend this hotel, and I certainly would not return – not even in a million years. It is a shame because I generally have good experiences with the Ibis brand, but this hotel seriously needs investment, renovation, and, in my opinion, much better attention to customer service. This is, of course, my personal experience and opinion, but I hope Ibis management takes this feedback seriously and looks into improving the hotel. A well-known hotel chain should provide a much better and more consistent standard than what we experienced here.

Near the main train station in Krakow, very close to a shopping point, 7-8 min walk from city center, Ibis Krakow Stare Miasto was the perfect choise for our holiday. Although the hotel is close to the train tracks, if you close the window there is no noise. I really appreciated the quality of the mattress for a good rest, the water dispenser on each floor and the cleaning in our room. Breakfast was also good for a good start in our everyday journey.

I would like to specifically mention the receptionist at night when we arrived ( on the 10th of August) and who also worked in early AM . I am sorry I forgot his name but we really appreciate the breakfast 'bag' that he prepared for us. Thank you so much! We were in a rush that day because we want to hear the 0600 AM mass at Cheztosowa.Kudos to him!

We arrived late in the evening. Fortunately we had pre-booked and pre-paid. We had arrived at Krakow Main Station and chose this hotel for a short overnight stay because of its close proximity to the station having arrived there from the airport. We were tired and found that the shower was exactly what we needed and the bed was so comfortable after a long day. Having stayed here before, we also think the proximity to the main square is really good (about 10/12 minutes walk) and the fact that there is parking at the rear of the hotel is also very convenient, although please bear in mind this comes at an extra cost. We would have liked to have had some facility in the room to make a cup of tea or coffee which was not available, but other than that, we would recommend this city centre hotel.

We had a very pleasant stay at ibis Kraków. The hotel is well located and very convenient, especially if you are staying for one or two nights. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed for a short stay. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Check-in and check-out were easy and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. It’s a good option if you are looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in Kraków without any unnecessary fuss. We would be happy to stay here again.
