The whole hotel was freezing cold, the restraunt, reception and especially the room, single glazed sash windows were letting in more cold air than the heater was able to cope with, I have worked on ice rinks that were water. No parking available as a sea of builders vans and flat beds had filled the car park. I was the first and only person in the restraunt and was told that my first 2 choices were sold out! It was the first night open and I was first in so how was it sold out! Seevice was slow but food was good. Lady on reception was helpful but doesn't understand English, I asked if the hotel did a evening meal and she repeated what she just told me about breakfast, I asked again and was told pizza only after 9p.m For work I have stayed at many travelogue and premier inn and this was below the standard of the worst travelogue. For work I have worked on events at other Mecure hotels and have seen how good Mecure can be and this hotel does not deserve the Mecure name. I have cancelled my next visit and will stay anywhere else than here.

Well located just off the A13, and a few minutes from the M25, this historic hotel has recently refurbished rooms, a delightful dining area and 'library' room and the staff are always helpful, smiling and pleasant. You hear a little traffic from the A roads, but generally a good night sleep. Breakfast was a little lacking, with us having to ask for fresh bread, butter, milk and a couple of other basics on both mornings. We liked having freshly cooked food made to order, though. Bar area is decent too. Will be back!

Lovely room, fabulous staff but the bar was cold and unwellcoming a bit too much like a cafeteria rather than somewhere to unwind with a drink
