I checked in at 3pm with the intention of using the free fibre Hotel Wi-fi but was unable to log into this. I followed all the correct steps but was unable to go beyond the screen asking to become a member or to sign in. I am a member, so clicked on sign in and was presented with a blank screen with no sign in options. I explained to reception, but unfortunately they were unable to assist. This was a big problem as I had an important meeting at 4.30pm, so I actually had to travel home for the meeting. I returned at 8pm with my partner who had just flown in from Europe, and she was understandably hungry. I thought this would be no issue as I noted in the lift that the restaurant was open until 9.30pm. We dropped our luggage in our room and went downstairs to the restaurant. They had a snack menu out but when I asked where is the menu that is in the lift, I was informed that the restaurant was closed (it was now approximately 8.30pm). This apparently was due to the hotel being too busy! I have never heard this excuse before! My partner is vegetarian and the available snack menu did not cater for her needs. The following day I was again unable to log in to the Wi-fi for the same reason and again we travelled home so I could work remotely, completely defeating the object of my planned relaxing stay with my partner who I had not seen for 2 months! We again returned in the evening, this time already having eaten to save any potential problem with the restaurant. Then finally today we had the hotel breakfast which was pleasant, but ridiculously, the containers of food with bacon, sausage, scrambled egg (which are all kept under a very intense warming light), had handles of varying overly hot temperatures. The scrambled egg lid was agonisingly hot as it had a metal handle on top which could genuinely have burnt me but for the fact I immediately let go! I told a hotel staff member that this was a very bad idea and I am glad my girlfriend did not discover this before me! For the record, I am a regular hotel stayer with a preference for reputable hotel chains which I would certainly class the Accor Group of hotels as. I have previously stayed in Accor hotels predominantly in Europe. To summarise, the hotel Wi-Fi was totally inaccessible for my work, we could not have a proper meal in the evening and the breakfast was problematic with the heat issue I described. I have never experienced issues like these before and I look forward to your response and explanation.

Great Hotel at Superb Price

Attending an event at The O2 and booked this hotel because it was excellent value for money with a car park that you could prepay for. Loved the option to check in online. Arrived later than originally indicated on online check in but all went smoothly and was soon checked in and in our room. Room was spotlessly clean, a good temperature, with all mod cons and a very funky bathroom with lovely toiletries. I will definitely return next time we are visiting Excel or the O2.
