I am torn between scoring 6 or a 7. And that is because: Pros: Good location, clean hotel, got an upgrade due to gold membership, very friendly stuff, good variety on breakfast. However: Cons: 1. Requested by phone 1-2 days earlier (and availability CONFIRMED by the hotel at the time) early check-in. However it didn't happen. It didn't affect our stay, however it's frustrating because clearly the membership/loyalty system doesn't fully work. 2. Hotel confirmed upgrade, however, we noticed that one of the 2 rooms I had booked didn't have slippers, vanity kit and bathrobes. 3. Pillows were uncomfortable. I was really surprised because I have stayed in Novotels many times and usually pillows are excellent. I'd expect some consistency on this among the Novotel hotels. There was no consistency in pillows and the 2 of the 4 pillows I had on my side of the bed were extremely uncomfortable. One of them was very hard/rigid with the other one being half collapsed (half really tall with the other half collapsed)

Nice hotel but let down by ignoring my room preferences. (High floor and away from the elevator. We had a low floor room right next to the elevator). I had also emailed the hotel in advance to say it was my partners birthday. When we stayed two years ago they had provided a bottle of bubbly and some chocolates in the room on arrival. But this time there was nothing.

Had to be moved rooms three times, first room was a joined one. The bathroom was still under construction work with part of the shower hanging off. Tools and a sealant gun was still in bathroom not good when this was a room for young children. Move into a second room, this was absolutely disgusting. The bathroom had pubic hair all over still, the tables and benches had food crumbs and dust. Pubic hair was also in the sofa bed. Eventually moved into a third room and this was still of a poor standard however we had to get to the o2 arena for a show so couldn’t mess about moving rooms again. We also had a second room, this had the bedding changed on the first night whilst we went exploring. Upon arriving back to the hotel late on the second night this new bedding had stains and pubic hair in it. Overall for the cost of the hotel very disappointing.
