It is my second time at this hotel in 6 months. Location is perfect. Safe, clean and quiet. Very close to Elizabeth Line and DLR. 15-20 minutes ride to the center max. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable (esp. in suit), helpful staff and very satisfying breakfast. Great value for money except exhibition-meeting times at Excel. Rooms started to seem that their time has come for renovation.

We stayed for 100% show at Excel, the ground floors lifts only 1 was working over the 4 days of our stay - Friday - Monday, on check out only 1 lift out of 3 was working on the reception floor, one of which hadn't worked the whole time we were there, I was on the 8th floor and had to wait 15 minutes to get a lift. We had a meeting room on the Friday, the coffee machine stopped working and had to ask for extra milk, 3 separate people asked for the water with lemons to be topped up as empty but never was, My lights in my room wouldn't always work and took 20 minutes to get going, the aircon never worked properly so my room was boiling the whole weekend, the bar staff were extremely slow and not enough people working on it, the breakfast was good though.

Friendly staff - especially Carlos in the restaurant who sorted hot water, honey and lemon for my sore throat; breakfast was good; bar was awful - not enough staff and clueless. Other than the bar experience would have been 10/10.
