I stayed at Novotel London Excel from 16 August to 3 September with my family for a leisure trip, and overall, it was a very comfortable and enjoyable experience. The hotel is very well located, making it an excellent base for exploring London. The proximity to Custom House station, the IFS Cloud Cable Car, The O2, and ExCeL London made getting around extremely convenient, especially when travelling with family and using public transport. Our stay was comfortable and relaxing, and the hotel provided everything we needed for a pleasant extended stay. The staff were consistently supportive, courteous and welcoming, and their helpful attitude really added to our experience. The breakfast deserves a special mention. There was a good variety of options, with something to suit different tastes, and it was a great way to start our sightseeing days. We particularly appreciated the convenience of being able to reach central London while also staying in a quieter and well-connected area. The combination of location, comfort, friendly staff, good breakfast and excellent transport connectivity makes Novotel London Excel a very good choice for families visiting London. We had a lovely family holiday and would be happy to stay at Novotel London Excel again on our next visit to London. Highly recommended!

Great location, stuff we're kind and helpful before and during the stay. Rooms are modern and equipped. Shower head wasn't working well and the house keeping team could do a better job on a daily basis. But after talking to reception they took care of it

Loved my stay at Novotel London Excel, early check in was only an extra £20 which I think was reasonable especially after traveling and arriving early. Staff were very friendly, bed was comfortable, bar was lovely and plenty of toiletries. Located well to shops, tube station, London city airport, London excel. Lovely views too. Highly recommend this hotel, I was very satisfied with my stay and would return.

Good location and easy to get to from London Heathrow. We did, however, have issues with the room where bathroom sink was unusable (clogged I think) and service requests at the front desk were not taken care of. Otherwise the room was ok and service was good.

The only positive was the location and easy accessibility to attractions in London, the bathroom sink drain and shower drain was not draining properly, the air conditioner could not go lower than 18 degrees celcius and for a family of 4 in the room, it was hot at night.

Checking in was easy, but the person at check in seemed bored, didn't really want to help and told us breakfast was included and the times but it wasn't when we went to the restaurant. The room was made up for three people, but only had two cups, glasses and not enough pillows. The air conditioning didn't work.

We stayed here as a family for one night. The staff were warm and friendly and the location is fantastic but the room was in a terrible condition and the noise levels meant none of us slept.

I can't fault the staff during my stay as they were welcoming and assisted whenever they could and I would like to say thank you to them all. I chose the Novotel at Victoria Square due to it's closeness to the Excel. However, the disabled access room that I was in, Room 432 was not suitable to me as a wheelchair user. The door handle and access was too high and there was a small step in at the door. I was unable to use the shower and the toilet was difficult to use as there was an oversized sink that obscured the access. The main issue for me was the bed which again was too high and during my stay I had to sleep on the base of the bed covered in duvets, which caused discomfort in my body. If nothing else comes from my feedback, can you please look to have different beds is your accessible rooms at the height of a standard wheelchair 18 to 21 Inches, this includes both the base and the mattress, to allow easy transfer from wheelchair to bed and vice versa. When I first made the booking, I did ask that the request regarding the bed was added into my booking notes and that someone in housekeeping called me ahead of my stay so that I could detail my requirements, but this didn't happen. We got to the hotel at 1 o’clock-ish aware this is too early to check in so we had some drinks and some lunch. Audrie at the bar was fantastic had the best customer survey and was such an angel. She chatted with us and went above and beyond and such a star and was the highlight of our stay! However checking in was supposed to be 3 o’clock at 2:45 we asked if our room is ready it was not at 3 o’clock. We saw lots of people getting checked in so we queued up again to ask if our room was ready as it should be as check-in is 3 o’clock it was not we were told to wait. We informed the two gentleman behind the desk that we had reservations at 4:30 and so we needed to leave the hotel at 4 O’clock. This shouldn’t have been an issue as check-in is advertised online at 3 o’clock. It got 3:10 we asked again we were told sit down and wait they will come to us at 25 past still nothing we still saw lots of people being checked in. We did also see some people leave as their room was not ready so they fall on left the hotel. We’re aware we are not the only ones we’re not checked in until about 4 pm that day however we saw people turn up book a room and get checked in on the same day at the same time when we had pre-booked months before so they were aware we were coming so at 3:25 we went up again at this point we had to start getting ready in the hotel lobby people were given us really strange looks as there were three girls getting ready in the lobby and it was really an uncomfortable experience for us. We were told again room is still not ready we were not told why the room was not ready. We were not apologise to at all finally at 3:45. The men behind the counter were replaced with a couple of ladies I went up and she said our room had been ready. I was not happy as obviously we had gotten ready in the hotel lobby and hold our room was not ready when in fact it had been ready I told her I wasn’t happy with the experience with the two gentlemen no one had apologise. No one had explained to us while we were waiting and she said it was not their fault but again no apology was given for the fact we were checking into our room 45 minutes late and we had to leave in 10 minutes to make our reservations. The men did not come and get us like they said they would we had to keep going up to ask for our room it was really inconvenient. We were almost late to our reservations because we were needing to get changed and do our hair which we couldn’t do in the lobby not an apology not a complimentary drink or breakfast and it really dumped our mood. We came to the hotel it was gorgeous and like I said, we had a brilliant time with. Audrie but the fact that we could not check into our room almost an hour after the designated check-in time was ridiculous. Why am I paying £185 for a room when you’re not going to let me check in until an hour after I’m supposed to be!

The staff were all lovely but the carpet had stains and there was hair in the sink. Please check out the cleanliness at Novotel Sheffield and you will learn something

We had 2 family bedrooms for 4 nights. The bunk bed is not incredible. The rest of the room was rather good. The hot breakfast is complete. The restaurant is quite good, actually. A parking spot was available in the garage (30GBP / day) for our big car. Nice view on the docks. The nearby London City airport means that a few planes pass by the hotel, quite low... but it is more an attraction than a problem. The spa was out of service during our stay :-(
