Having travelled a lot for work and for leisure, and stayed at numerous hotels, this has by far been the worst experience. This has put us off from staying at a Mecure hotel in the future, in fact, we were supposed to stay at a Mecure in Rome following this, which I cancelled at the last minute to avoid due to tbis experience. The reception was just a random desk to the side of the entrance. As we arrived before the check in time, we stopped past to drop off our luggage. The lady who was assisting us appeared to be forced to work and there was no warm welcoming experience. When we later arrived back in the evening to check in, the front doors were locked and as we had no key, we had to ring a doorbell. We rang this numerous times and tried to knock on the glass doors to get the attention of the lady who was sitting at the desk (different to the first one who assisted), to which one of the male workers noticed and came to open the door. The two of them were also unfriendly and the service we had was very subpar. In addition to this, as has been with my other Accor experiences, we were not welcomed as a member and were not pointed to where the welcome drink can be obtained. Following this, we then went up to the room and was really unimpressed with the presentation. Firstly, one of the rooms contained a shower in the bathtub which on the Accor site, it only mentions a shower AND a bathtub. Had I known this was the arrangement, I would have not booked the room as the bathtub is so small that an average person can barely stand in it. One of the other rooms also had socks wrapped around the smoke detector, assumingly the previous people who stayed in the room had done this to avoid setting it off. It is also really disappointing to see that this was not picked up by the staff as this is a major safety hazard. Lastly, there was a lack of amenities. The body lotion which was located in the shower (no idea why it is there in the first place in the both rooms), one of them was almost out. There was no milk/creamer for coffee, which we were advised by the staff that this was due to ecofriendly measures, which I find hard to believe being that every other hotel we have been to around Europe had it. The cord for the kettle is not able to reach the power outlet from location of the table, meaning that it has to be placed on the floor. We raised some of this matters, including the quality of staff service to one of the male staff (assuming his the manager) and to his credit, sent up a couple of drinks and powdered milk to right the wrong. If I could rate my experience less than zero, I would as the service and quality of the rooms was absolutely terrible and it really impacted our holiday in Paris. If this is the quality of service and room presentation that Accor delivers, I am inclined to never book an Accor hotel ever again. I am never the person to write such long and negative feedback, or request for compensation, but suffice to say, this stay was not worth the price paid.

Contrary to your observation, there is no “random desk” at Mercure Paris Nanterre, as we do not have a traditional front desk. Thanks to our mobile check-in service, we welcome our guests in comfort, whether they choose to be seated in the lobby, the lounge area or at the bar. I am sorry that this service did not meet your expectations. The lady who assisted you was a trainee, supervised by her manager, as part of our program to help young people (aged 15 to 18) take their first steps into the working world. Your feedback will help both her and us improve our processes. I am disappointed to hear that you did not receive the warm welcome we aim to provide to every guest, as this is usually one of our strengths. Regarding the welcome drink, it is now accessible via the Accor app, and we assist each guest in activating it. The front door was closed at night, which is our standard procedure once all guests have arrived. You had the option to use your room key card to open the doors or to ring the bell. Your comments regarding the room condition and amenities have been noted and addressed with our housekeeping team to ensure a better experience for future guests. I do not fully understand your concerns about the bathroom facilities. You booked a family room, which includes one room with a queen-size bed and another with twin beds, each with its own bathroom: one with a standard bathtub (70x170 cm) and one with a shower. The lack of certain amenities in your room is totally unacceptable. Our housekeeping staff, including housekeepers and supervisors, are responsible for checking every detail, which clearly was not done according to our standards. While we do implement eco-friendly practices, we appreciate your feedback regarding the amenities and will review this aspect further. I truly regret that this experience has impacted your view of our brand. Thank you once again for your valuable insights, which are essential in helping us improve. The road noise outside kept me awake. I think this was because of the air vent that couldnt be closed. Very disappointing. I told the reception the next day but the person just said sorry.
