This was a couple's trip and my husband's first time in Hanoi, and Fairmont Hanoi made it a truly memorable one. The location is fantastic. Hoan Kiem Lake, the Old Quarter, the French Quarter and St Joseph's Cathedral (Nha Tho Lon) are all within walking distance, so there's no shortage of cultural sights and plenty of Michelin Bib Gourmand eateries are just a short stroll away too. We booked a room with Gold Lounge access, and it was worth every dollar. The service was exquisite and genuinely welcoming, and kudos to the chef — breakfast is served à la carte so every order arrives fresh and warm. Afternoon tea offers a lovely spread, and the Golden Hour from 5.30pm to 7.30pm daily includes unlimited cocktails, wine and sparkling. But the cherry on top was the service team, who turned everyday moments into special ones. Two Gold Lounge staff deserve special mention. Shu paid meticulous attention to every guest without being asked, she would come by to offer a glass or a small item, and made small yet non-intrusive conversation. She even encouraged us when we tried thanking her in Vietnamese. She would ask if we were coming by for Golden Hour, remember our drinks, and have them chilled and ready the moment we arrived. Woody, though a trainee, delivered service that felt mature well beyond his experience. He surprised my husband with an espresso martini during breakfast, one of many small delights. None of these gestures were grand on their own, but the touch felt elegant and sincere. One last callout goes to the staff member who welcomed us at the ground floor front desk and escorted us to the Gold Lounge for check-in on Day 1 — I'm sorry I didn't catch her name. She asked if we needed an airport transfer arranged and whether we'd like food recommendations around Hanoi. Every single thing she offered, she followed up on either that day or the next. I was genuinely delighted to receive a curated list of recommendations spanning Michelin Bib Gourmand, luxury, mid-tier and street food. Finally, the facilities show how much Fairmont Hanoi has invested in the guest experience. The bathhouse is a must-visit, along with the one-of-a-kind meditation capsule, the indoor pools, the outdoor pool (where the service was equally amazing) and a gym fully kitted out with Technogym equipment. Huge thanks to the gym coach, Victor for a detailed tour introducing every facility, so that we know what to enjoy during our stay. We left with wonderful memories and every intention of returning. If you're considering where to stay in Hanoi, this is it.

I stayed at the Fairmont Hanoi for a few nights as part of a longer Asia trip that included a stay at the #1 hotel in the world: the Rosewood Hong Kong. I genuinely believe this Fairmont Hanoi can compete on the same level as the Rosewood. The service was fantastic. All employees seemed genuinely happy to greet you each time they saw you and I never felt like a burden. The property was pristine, modern and in a great location. This was my first trip to Hanoi and was debating on staying at the Capella or Sofitel, but I’m perfectly content with my decision to stay at the Fairmont and this would be my first choice for a stay on a return trip. I’m from the US and enjoy western comforts- large rooms, good AC, modern design, large showers, and friendly service. This property delivered on all fronts. The Bathhouse amenities were unlike anything I’ve seen elsewhere and I don’t think the description on the Fairmont website does them justice I splurged for the round-trip airport transportation knowing I would have to take a taxi to the airport regardless. This isn’t typically a service I pay for in other countries but I’m glad I did here. The process was seamless, car was spotless, and the driver was professional and friendly. The Fairmont team coordinated with me to schedule the car for my early flight on the day of my departure and had a hot coffee and my folio waiting for me for a seamless checkout when departing. Kudos to the team for a memorable stay.
