How do I describe this experience? Memorable. What a special place, just oozing with old world charm. The staff were all amazing and the feeling of staying somewhere really 'posh' was everywhere. This is the place you go if you want to get a feel for what it was like for the wealthy and famous in the 30's, 40's and 50's. But in saying that, I felt that at any moment someone recognisable would swagger past and we would have to pretend that we weren't impressed.
The room was not overly expensive (compared to lux hotels in Australia) but this does depend on what room type you book. We were in the heritage part of the hotel and although our room was small it had everything we needed. Bed turn down each night and little snack gifts left every time. It all just added to the feel of the stay.
We enjoyed the French restaurant on one night. This was extremely expensive and I cant say that it was the most amazing meal, but we had the most amazing time. The waiters were all engaging and eager to please and connect with us. Breakfast was the best of any hotel that we have stayed and served the best Pho in town - which is significant given that Hanoi is the 'Pho' capital of the country!

How do I describe this experience? Memorable. What a special place, just oozing with old world charm. The staff were all amazing and the feeling of staying somewhere really 'posh' was everywhere. This is the place you go if you want to get a feel for what it was like for the wealthy and famous in the 30's, 40's and 50's. But in saying that, I felt that at any moment someone recognisable would swagger past and we would have to pretend that we weren't impressed.
The room was not overly expensive (compared to lux hotels in Australia) but this does depend on what room type you book. We were in the heritage part of the hotel and although our room was small it had everything we needed. Bed turn down each night and little snack gifts left every time. It all just added to the feel of the stay.
We enjoyed the French restaurant on one night. This was extremely expensive and I cant say that it was the most amazing meal, but we had the most amazing time. The waiters were all engaging and eager to please and connect with us. Breakfast was the best of any hotel that we have stayed and served the best Pho in town - which is significant given that Hanoi is the 'Pho' capital of the country!

This hotel is one of the best I have been privileged to stay in Paris. Its location cannot be faulted, rooms are reasonably large for Paris, they are spotless, the bedding very comfortable and the staff only too happy to help. Breakfast has a large array to choose from and is yummy.

Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay. The hotel was beautiful, and we really appreciated its history and atmosphere.
However, there was one experience at the restaurant that was a little disappointing. My son is currently studying English and was doing his best to communicate with the staff in English. At times, we felt that some of the restaurant staff were not very patient or welcoming toward him.
He was trying very hard, so a little more patience and a warm smile would have made a big difference to his experience.
Apart from this, we very much enjoyed our stay and hope you will take this as constructive feedback.

Excellent stay in your historic hotel. The bunker tour was great. In general the food and drink offering was very good except for the Spice Garden restaurant in which we felt the food was well-presented but relatively bland by Vietnamese standards. My wife felt that the swimming pool was too short for swimming exercise
