Chandreyee R. Business - Confirmed reviews ALL

The room was great, it being in the Bankstown sports center with access to the restaurants is very convenient. The check in process was great, checkout with card dropping was very easy as well and front desk staff were very sweet. I had the breakfast buffet and it was pretty up to standards. However, the bathroom was a major issue. The towels has musty smell, the water in the shower had a sewerage smell, I took two showers and both time felt same thing, the shower glass screen had mold in the corner, so did the corner tiles and there was no body soap in the dispenser. My guests in other rooms also agreed to same feedback on bathrooms. Another thing was that there was continuous elevator issues, them being slow/getting stuck, etc. and I'm hoping its just a one time maintenance thing. I am a repeat customer to this hotel, and sadly the bathroom issue was major to think twice for re booking.

Dear Chandreyee, Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback and for being a valued repeat guest of our hotel. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed the convenience of our location within Bankstown Sports, the dining options, the smooth check-in and check-out process, and the friendly service from our front desk team. It is also wonderful to know you found the breakfast buffet enjoyable. At the same time, we sincerely apologise for the condition of the bathroom during your stay. The issues you described regarding the musty-smelling towels, odour from the shower water, mould in the shower area, and the empty body soap dispenser are extremely concerning and certainly not reflective of the standards we aim to maintain. We are especially disappointed to hear that your guests in other rooms experienced similar concerns. Please be assured that your feedback has been escalated to our housekeeping, maintenance, and management teams for immediate investigation and corrective action. We are also currently addressing the elevator performance issues you experienced, and we apologise for the inconvenience caused during your stay. We truly value your loyalty and are disappointed to hear this experience has made you reconsider returning. We appreciate your honest feedback, as it gives us the opportunity to improve, and we hope we may have the chance to restore your confidence in a future stay. Kind Regards, James Front Office Manager

Lift broken, other guests say been broken since last week. All 4 nights broken during my stay, over a weekend and an event on. Travel stairs out of even space broken, meant needed to use the ONE lift. Paper thin walls. Next doors phone alarm woke me up 3am. Went on for 45 mins hour until I called security. Housekeeping made the bed once in 4 nights, and only pulled up covers, didn’t tuck sides. Terrible.

Dear Amy, Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We sincerely apologise for the significant inconveniences you experienced during your stay. We understand how frustrating the ongoing lift issues would have been, particularly over a busy weekend and during an event period. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by both the lift outage and the broken travelator, which clearly impacted accessibility and wait times throughout your stay. We also regret the disturbance caused by noise from neighbouring rooms and appreciate how disruptive the prolonged phone alarm would have been, especially during the early hours of the morning. In addition, we apologise that the housekeeping service did not meet expectations. The room presentation and servicing standards you described are not reflective of the level of service we aim to provide. Please be assured your feedback has been shared with our maintenance, housekeeping, and management teams for immediate review and follow-up. We appreciate your honesty, as it helps us identify where improvements are needed, and we are very sorry that your experience was disappointing. Kind Regards, James Front Office Manager

Upon check in I was given absolutely no information about the hotel. I was not told where the elevators were located, I was not given a sign in slip for the club for the duration for my stay (which the club staff asked me for and I had no idea what they were talking about as I wasn’t given one). Breakfast was included in my stay and I was not told where to go and what times etc. I wasn’t told anything about the car park, or the sports club, I was simply handed my room key and sent on my way. The car park was easily accessed.. however, if you go down a few levels you don’t have access to the lift, you need to go upstairs (which was impractical with a bad back and heavy bags on wheels) There is also more than one elevator.. so the one I found, I exited in the middle of the sports club with all my bags. All in all a very frustrating check in experience that could have been much more pleasant had I been given all the relevant information. I will also note that I had family arrive a couple of days later and had a very similar check in experience, one of them was given a room key.. to someone else’s room!! She opened the door and found someone else’s belongings in there already. Massive security breach and then also that exisiting room holders key had to be reset.. so very inconvenient and poor experience for all involved. During my stay, one of the two hotel elevators went out of order which meant getting from my floor to anywhere else in the hotel took about 20mins as it was always full and taking a long time as there was only one elevator. I can understand this is unavoidable, however it contributed to an already disappointing experience. Also note- there is no room service for food, and if you order uber eats or similar, you need to go to reception to collect. All in all, as an Accor member I am so disappointed with mine and my families stay at Mercure Bankstown. It was the location of a very important event and our experience with the hotel staff left a very bitter taste in our mouths. Very disappointing.

From booking to leaving we had a number of issues. Applying a discount code made for a very complex booking process, to save a minimal amount of money. The wrong type of room ended up being booked. Staff were unhelpful via phone calls to link bookings and add an extra night. Creating further issues upon check in. Night 1 -Despite the fact we had the lights turned off we had a light flicker in our room all night, itwas like having lightning in the room. No maintenance team available, cleaning staff attempted to repair. Night 2 - the leg on one of the beds broke, no maintenance team available to replace so the top mattress was placed on the ground until the following day. Night 3 - locked out of the bathroom - not sure how but the door liked itself Throughout the week long stay one of the lifts was out of order, we spent countless times having to wait for 2-3 full lifts to pass before being able to enter the lift. The stairwells were mostly locked so we’re unable to be used - a major fire hazard in my opinion. Spoken to by staff harshly for ducking a gaming area through to some stairs from floor 1 to ground. (Told we MUST use the lift) Very boring breakfast, exactly same every day for a 5 nights. Extremely limited gluten free options. No gluten free toaster so had to risk cross contamination in public toaster.
