The standard Platinum recognition typically includes a welcome letter and a small amenity or gift. On this occasion, I received neither acknowledgment nor welcome amenity. At check-in, I was advised that I could enjoy any non-alcoholic beverages from the minibar. However, the minibar was not turned on and was completely warm, making them effectively undrinkable. In addition, the ironing board cover in my room was broken and falling apart which made it impossible to iron, which is not acceptable for a hotel of this standard. Most concerning was the fire alarm activation at approximately midnight, which continued for around 30 minutes just after I had gone to sleep. While I fully appreciate that guest safety must always come first, as a fire safety consultant my understanding is that buildings of this nature are permitted to have appropriately trained personnel investigate alarms and, where safe to do so, silence or reset the system once a false activation has been confirmed. I would recommend your staff be trained in future to be able to investigate, silence and reset alarms, as minimising unnecessary disruption is important for guest wellbeing and confidence.

The check in process or at any point needing assistance was always a long wait. 15 minutes plus each time. Our room bed set up wasn’t correct so we had to move rooms when we had an 8 month old. However this ended up taking 30 minutes to wait for service and then for us to move. The service at the restaurant was not very good when we went to get our welcome drinks. Once we told them we weren’t eating dinner, They didn’t seat us, or bring us a high chair for our 8 month old. It was disappointing that the menu for breakfast offered was only buffet when online it showed Al la cart which is what we wanted and that due to Valentine’s Day there was no offer of the Accor discount for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Overall was not very impressed, even though the hotel was nice, for a weekend get away it wasn’t overly easy and couldn’t use the Accor plus benefits.

Hotel section was lovely as usual however bar let the stay down. The service was not friendly ad the quality of the drinks was poor. My friend checked the price of Tattinger on website before going to the bar and price was $135 when she bought the champagne she was charged $250. She did bring this to the attention of reception who apologised and said they would ask management to fix and be in contact. STILL WAITIN

Dear Narelle G., Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent stay. I sincerely apologise for the experience you encountered at the bar. We strive to provide excellent service and quality beverages, and it is disappointing to learn that we fell short in this instance. Regarding the pricing discrepancy, I appreciate you bringing this to our attention and I assure you that we will review the matter further. Your comments are valuable as they help us improve our services. Kind Regards, Samantha Plant Operations Manager The William Inglis - MGallery, Hotel Collection
