I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend ibis Sydney Olympic Park to others based on my experience. While the room itself was generally okay and met basic expectations, several key issues really impacted the overall comfort and quality of the stay. The biggest problem was the bathroom. It was visibly dirty and did not feel properly cleaned before my arrival. This immediately made the room feel unhygienic and uncomfortable, which is disappointing as cleanliness should be a basic standard, especially for a well-known hotel brand. The bathroom condition significantly lowered my confidence in the overall housekeeping. The bed was another major letdown. It was uncomfortable and made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. For a hotel stay, especially after a long day, comfort is essential, and unfortunately this was lacking. A poor bed can ruin an otherwise acceptable room, and that was the case here. Although the room itself was adequate in size and layout, these issues outweighed any positives. Between the uncomfortable bed and the dirty bathroom, the stay did not meet expectations. For the price and the reputation of the ibis brand, I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and comfort. Overall, the stay felt below average, and I wouldn’t choose to return. With better housekeeping standards and improvements to the bedding, this hotel could offer a much better experience, but as it stands, I would not recommend it.

Checked in only to find out we had been placed in a twin single bed room instead of king bed room like my reservation said. The staff were really helpful and switched our room for us, however this didn't get updated in the system properly, so we had another hotel guest get given keys to our room and had the surprise of them letting themselves in while we were there. The staff were very apologetic and helpful. Both of our keys stopped working suddenly. Heating didn't work in the room. Door didnt close properly, when room service attended the room the door was left not closed properly, anyone could have walked in without a key. The lock on the inside of the door didn't work either. Saturday night music was blasting in the foyer and out front of the hotel til 9pm, could hear it in the room so had to turn the tv on loudly and close up the room to block it out. I understand there was a music event on, but some of us were staying for other reasons and would have liked to be able to sleep.

I am sorry for the room type mix up and, most importantly, that another guest was mistakenly given access to your room. That should not happen. We will pass your feedback to our Front Office to review check in procedures and key control in detail. I am also sorry about the heating, the door not closing properly, and the inside lock. We will pass your feedback to Engineering to inspect and fix the unit. Your notes on cleanliness are noted too and we will pass your feedback to Housekeeping for a deep check and retrain where needed. On event nights we aim to keep the lobby lively without disturbing rest, so we will review music levels and timing so it does not carry into rooms. If anything like this comes up mid stay, reception is available 24 hours a day to help and find a solution on the spot. If you choose to book with us again, please call or email the hotel and ask for Assistant Manager Alexander so I can personally look after your stay.
