Stayed for the location and because of past experience. Unfortunately the Pullman is starting to show its age. The bar area in particular needs refurbishment and some new furniture and possibly some extra room given how popular it is.

Service at bacar was fine but food quality was terrible. Only 4 tables were takne (including ours) and it took 50 minutes to receive the food. When it arrived, it was of poor quality and portion size was terrible as well. Did not match the asking price for each dish. Extremely disappointing. The people at the table next to ours also took issue for the same reasons!

Our family lunch was excellent and we enjoyed our stay in the hotel. On the day of the lunch (Sun 8 Feb 20) Sydney had very heavy rain all day. Some of our guests were held up in traffic, etc due to the very wet conditions. The hotel staff were excellent and they were able to delay our family lunch until the last guests arrived, and at the same time provide excellent food and service to our guests as they arrived and waited for all the guests to arrive. This made the family lunch, a 65th birthday party, a most memorable event. We stayed in the hotel that night and again the service was excellent. My experience was extremely disappointing. The Sunday morning after staying overnight, I attempted to order room service. After looking through the menu, it appeared that the food menu insert was missing. I then decided to call reception to get a menu brought up (along with some towels). After 15 minutes, the towels were delivered, however no menu. I then called again and politely asked if I could get a menu brought up (without mentioning the fact I had already called to ask this) which I was told would be possible. After another 15 minutes, no menu had been delivered. I then called again (3rd time) and asked if a menu could be brought up, citing I had called twice before and no menu had arrived yet, despite being told it would. Another 15 minutes had passed and somehow, there was still no menu that had been delivered. I called reception again, this time frustrated as it has taken nearly 1 hour to get a menu brought to our room that would take less than 3 minutes to do. This time I expressed my disappointment. The lady at reception who answered the phone was rude and dismissive, claiming that "I wasn't the one who spoke to you earlier, it must have been someone else" - this is extremely unprofessional and not the way you expect someone working in a 5-star hotel to respond. Staff should be taking accountability and responsibility for their colleagues actions, not throwing them under the bus and shirking it at someone elses cost. I then asked this staff member if it was too difficult for whatever reason, I could come downstairs and pick up a menu myself. Again, she responded in a passive aggressive tone, suggesting that it was ridiculous that after calling 4 times over an hour, I would feel it necessary to come down myself and get a menu. She then stated that she would send someone upstairs from the kitchen with a menu promptly. In all honesty, this is even more unbelievable as I type it and remember the experience. After another 15 minutes from our 4th phone call and attempt at getting a menu, to my utter disbelief, there was no knock on the door to bring us a food menu. I then called reception for the 5th time. This time I let the lady at reception no how I felt about it all, how I had called 4 times before, how it has taken almost 1.5 hours to get a menu. Not only did I ask to have the menu delivered, but I asked for a manager to contact me to explain how this has happened. This was the first time a staff member had actually apologised to me for not fulfilling my simple request, albeit I had to show how annoyed I was to even get that. After 10 minutes, a knock on the door was heard and our menu delivered. I would still like to hear from a manager as this has not yet happened. The Pullman claim to be a 5-star hotel. This is not 5-star service. Yet somehow, there is a 5-star price tag that comes with it. I was hoping this stay would be one to remember as we often attend events at homebush, yet have yet to indulge in what we were expecting to be a 5-star experience.

Great stay on a very wet weekend. Loved that the Pullman reacted to customer request and the atrocious weather and provided a courtesy shuttle to the concert. Our car was valet parked and a big shout-out to the concierge who battled with the wind and rain to keep us dry! Room service arrived half an hour earlier than predicted and the ladies on the front desk at checkout were super helpful in regard to a lost earring ( which by the way I found in my luggage when I got home) The only downside was the wait for our car to be retrieved from the car park. I understand that this takes time and extra staff were working to expedite the process as quite a number of people checked out at the same time. Perhaps this information could be noted on the valet ticket or discussed when the car is parked.We were asked what time we needed the vehicle the next morning and wrongly assumed that it would be brought round at that time. If we had known to ring we would have done so and saved a 30minute wait in the lobby. We didn’t have to be anywhere so the delay was a minor inconvenience but it might have been a different matter if we had a plane to catch. Breakfast choices were good and the staff very friendly and attentive- scrambled eggs were tasteless ( perhaps they had been sitting a little long in the warmer) but overall a great stay Thankyou
