We have been regulars my wife and I whenever we make our way up to cabramatta to visit family from Canberra - staying at Novotel Canley Vale/Cabramatta. The previous stays we noticed inconsistencies in cleanliness of our room, the bath and most noticeably the smell of the toilet. This time it was the smell of the toilet, the dirty bath towels and the dirty bottled water. We ordered for new bath towels on our final night after realising the second dirty bath towel but waited a good 2 hours before having to order them again before a team member called to ask if we received it. It was almost midnight at this point. Quite poor. Also we found most annoyingly the novotel guest carpark is always taken by Cabra-Vale Resort patrons instead of allowing hotel guests like us to park. We had to go drive to have dinner in another suburb for a few hours despite wanting to having something local in cabramatta. We didnt so it defeated the purpose really for us staying at the hotel. Not sure if we want to stay here again if this is what we will experience the next time we stay. It's just wasn't up to scratch - from cleanliness to service and to the non existent parking. When I raised this with reception upon checking out - it was shrugged off as no issue at all and first they heard of such thing - quite dismissive. Not sure if this is right.

Comfortable stay, polite service and clean room. Good linen and surprisingly large showers. Not a great smell in the property in general though. The rooms smelled stuffy and so did the corridors and foyers. Coupled with the dark decor it felt unpleasant. The free parking was great.
