The Novatel hotel room was lovely and clean. My only issue was that there was only one power point next to the table for the lamp so I could only have the lamp on or plug my laptop in and not both so I had to work in the dark when my family was sleeping. Also the food restaurants in the Cabravale club only opened at 11:30am which didn’t work for me where I needed to wake up earlier than my family to start work at 9am online and couldn’t go down stairs for a quick bite for something to eat.

Drove all the way from Melbourne to have a family holiday where we can just relax and enjoy. However when we tried using the pool the first time there was a group of girls staying for some sort of excursion and were using the pool so we couldn’t take our son in. Upon arrival our room was missing robes and had to ask reception for them. Second time we tried using the pool there was a function full of people smoking and vaping around the pool which once again we had to take our son back up again. Third time once again the group of 20 girls were using the pool and after this point we just gave up. My son also has a muscle disability on his leg so the use of the pool was supposed to be part of his treatment. This was extremely disappointing and when I tried to complain to reception twice I was only offered an apology and told nothing can be done. Whilst staying there also during the night of the function my son who is only a couple months old could not sleep due to the loud noise of the music that lasted past 1am. Once again when complaining to reception was told nothing can be done. No effort of trying to reimburse or offer anything to make our stay more enjoyable.

There was an evacuation at 9pm during our stay. My wife had just got out of the shower, and we had to bring our 2 young boys (aged 3 and 5) outside in the cold for 2+ hours with no information or update what was happening. We rushed outside due to the evacuation without bringing enough warm clothes not knowing how long we we forced to stay outside for. Very dissapointed with the interruption with no compensation.
