If you're going to an event at Accor Olympic Stadium this is a good option to crash for the night - but don't stay too long. The check in process was slow, room wasn't ready 1 hour after check in time, rooms are filthy (ewww the carpets) and it's generally run down. Fine for a night but that's it. Really needs an overall and better trained staff especially on busy nights where there are events on.

I understand it is a ‘budget’ hotel but we were paying $600+/night for it because of a special event. We expected the staff to be at least friendly and accomodating. When we arrived there at 630pm (12/12) to check in, no one was at the desk. They had a sign up saying they have popped out and will be back soon. After waiting for 5 minutes, we rang the bell on the desk. 2 staff members came out of the room behind the desk. I mean, there were 2 of them. I understand if she was alone and needed to go to the toilet or something. But there were 2 of them. They couldve taken turns. They knew there was an event that night and it was going to be busy. She also came out with an attitude. As if it was such a hassle to check us in. No smile. No greeting. Every time I asked her a question, she would look at me as if I was asking the dumbest question in the world. We got to the room and there were only 3 towels there. We are a family of 4. (and that was stated when I booked the hotel) I sent my son to go down and ask for another towel and again, they have popped out. My son actually waited for 20 minutes and came back up without the towel because we had to leave for the concert already and he couldnt wait for tue staff member to come out. I ended up asking for the extra towel after we came back from the concert. The same staff member came out of the room behind the desk after I rang the bell. And she came out with the same attitude she had when she checked us in. As if it was such a pain to give us an extra towel. Again I understand its a budget hotel. But it wont hurt to be nice to paying customers. The room was also filthy. White stuff (looked like shredded tissues) under the bunk bed. Table was sticky (had to wipe them down). No chair in the room. We have stayed in this hotel before and theres usually one chair with the table.

Dear Kaye, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We sincerely apologise for the experience you had during your stay with us at ibis budget Sydney Olympic Park, especially on such a busy event night. While we are a budget hotel, we fully acknowledge that the rate you paid due to the special event was significant, and regardless of room type or pricing, every guest deserves friendly, professional and attentive service. We are truly disappointed to hear that this was not your experience. Please accept our apologies for the unattended front desk upon your arrival and the delays you experienced when seeking assistance. With a major event scheduled that evening, we should have ensured better front desk coverage and service readiness. Waiting at reception, ringing the bell, and feeling as though assistance was an inconvenience is not acceptable and does not reflect the service standards we expect from our team. We are particularly concerned by your comments regarding the attitude and lack of courtesy shown, and this feedback has been addressed directly with the team involved. We also apologise for the inconvenience caused by the missing towel, especially as your booking clearly indicated four guests. The delay your son experienced while waiting at reception, and having to return without assistance, is unacceptable. Likewise, the manner in which the request was handled later that evening should have been prompt and courteous. In addition, we are very sorry to hear about the cleanliness issues in your room. This is certainly not the standard we aim to deliver. The presence of debris under the bunk bed, a sticky table, and missing furniture such as the chair you rightly expected are all matters we take seriously. This has been shared with our housekeeping and inspection teams to ensure stricter checks are carried out moving forward. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, as it highlights areas where we clearly fell short. Please be assured that we are taking this seriously and using it as an opportunity to improve both our service and operational standards, particularly during high-demand event periods. Once again, we sincerely apologise for the disappointment caused and thank you for bringing these matters to our attention. Kind regards, Rody Lama Assistant Manager Ibis budget Sydney Olympic Park

Whilst we have stayed at Ibis Budget before and at Olympic Park we can't help but feel ripped off when prices consistently increase yet no improvements are done on the property. Staying for a concert and getting charged a "Special Event Price", at triple the usual cost, paying $620 for 2A & 2C in a more than basic room is price gouging. Kids beds not made up. Also being a member of Accor gives you no special perks or considerations. Air con was rattly, fridge motor was noisy and froze our food, and our room was right opposite the lift. Only one tea cup and 4 paper cups.

Dear D., Thank you for taking the time to share your further feedback with us. We truly appreciate your loyalty in having stayed with ibis Budget previously, including at Sydney Olympic Park, and we are very sorry that this stay left you feeling disappointed and undervalued. We understand and acknowledge your frustration regarding the Special Event pricing. While rates do increase significantly during major events due to demand across the entire precinct, we appreciate that paying $620 for a family stay sets higher expectations, even in a budget hotel. We regret that the overall experience did not feel commensurate with the price you paid, and we are sorry that this left you feeling as though the value was not there. Please accept our apologies that the children’s beds were not made up on arrival. This is a clear oversight and not the standard we aim to provide, regardless of room type. Your comments regarding the lack of Accor member recognition are also noted. While ibis Budget does have limited inclusions compared to other Accor brands, members should still feel acknowledged, and we regret that this was not evident during your stay. We are also sorry to hear about the room comfort issues you experienced. A rattling air-conditioning unit, a noisy fridge that froze your food, and being allocated a room directly opposite the lift would understandably impact your rest and enjoyment. These maintenance concerns have been raised with our engineering team for review. Had we been made aware during your stay, we would have gladly looked at relocating you where possible, but we appreciate that this does not change your experience in hindsight. Additionally, we apologise for the lack of basic amenities provided in the room, including only one ceramic tea cup and reliance on paper cups. Your feedback highlights areas where our room presentation and checks can be improved, particularly during high-occupancy event periods. We sincerely regret that this stay did not meet your expectations and that the condition of the property felt unchanged despite rising prices. Your feedback is extremely valuable and has been shared with our management team as we continue to review our offering, service delivery, and overall guest experience during peak events. Thank you again for taking the time to provide such honest feedback. We are truly sorry for the disappointment caused and hope we may have the opportunity to restore your confidence in the future. Kind regards, Rody Lama Assistant Manager ibis Budget Sydney Olympic Park

Reception worker was unhelpful and disinterested in helping me with my enquiry

Dear Jo, Thank you for your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about your experience with our reception team. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and apologise for the inconvenience caused. Kind regards, Rody Lama Assistant Manager Ibis budget Sydney Olympic Park
