The hotel is fine for a stopover of one or two nights. However, there are a few points I would like to bring to management's attention. The ceiling in our room was bare concrete; please finish the ceiling work and paint it. A small fridge in the room would also be desirable. There is a lack of hooks in the bathroom for hanging towels. The shower tray is not deep enough, causing water to spill everywhere. A mirror in the main room would be good. Some rooms had tea and coffee-making facilities, but ours unfortunately did not. At breakfast, the egg cooker was not working properly, so the eggs did not cook through. This is very dangerous, as undercooked eggs carry a risk of salmonella poisoning. The coffee machine kept breaking down.

Good location, lovely pool, comfortable hotel and really nice and extremely helpful staff. Good breakfast. Extremely clean. Two criticisms: the air conditioning wouldn’t go below 22 degrees and kept jumping back up to 24 degrees which made it too warm for sleeping; the hotel is right next to a railway and the crossing alarm woke us up at 5.30 every morning and was heard regularly. The balcony was not big enough for the two sunbeds so we couldn’t use; a couple of chairs would have been better. Despite the criticisms, we enjoyed our stay

Very pleasant room on 5th floor clean and tidy with excellent drop down bed.Good breakfast Ì am a swimmer so enjoyed the pool but would have preferred to have swam earlier than 10am The TV was a disappointment.No English Channels couldn’t even get a decent French one.

The most important thing to share with you is the poor directions to your car park in the emails beforehand. Had we entered the hotel address we would have found the car park easily. However, we were instructed to enter Rue Flora Tristan and after we couldn't find the car park we had a 15 minute drive in heavy traffic. Otherwise the hotel was comfortable, we enjoyed the pool, the beds were comfy and the breakfast was nice. Apart from the directions the only issues we had was the reading lights and main lights were on one circuit with one switch which made it difficult for individual family members to read without other lights being on in the room. We also lacked bedside tables - even a small shelf would have been great. Finally, some instructions for the room and a list of what was provided would have been useful. A lot of things were hidden, including our daughter's bed!

Great base for La Rochelle. A short walk into the old town and port area. Very friendly staff and a very comfortable stay. It was very noisy some mornings with building work and some screeching trains but this is outside of the control of the hotel.

We were finishing up on the Ile de Re and stayed at Ibis Styles Gare La Rochelle for two nights before our flight out. We were looking forward to strolling around La Rochelle and seeing the sights but we were hit by the heatwave. Thankfully the hotel had air conditioning and a well maintained pool. Our room too had AC and was very comfortable. It looked newly refurbished and had fine bedding. The shower room was very modern. The only thing I'd add to the room I think is a small fridge. Our daughters were amazed by the breakfast and loved the games available to play in the bar / lobby area.
