The staff was great, especially the head bartender. We celebrated our 25th Anniversary, and he helped make it special. For the hotel, breakfast was adequate and hotel was clean but being by the sea it certainly will be difficult with people with sensitivities to mold. The air conditioner in our room absolutely could not cool the small European style room. Opening the window was a different problem that introduced the noise of drunks wandering about the harbor until 5 AM in the morning. Finally, the billing system for Accor is very confusing. It certainly created some anxiety at check out.

We have stayed a number of times here. Well situated with free on site parking. The rooms and bathrooms are a more compact than most other Mercure hotels but adequate. The once fashionable bathroom is now looking dated and would benefit with updating, the fittings in our room had lost their chromium finish and looked jaded. Breakfast in the panoramic restaurant was the usual wide choice of products. One large retrograde step is the change of coffee machine. The previous one served excellent coffee. The new one serves a warm brown liquid with no discernable taste. AVOID ! Overall a good stay and we will be staying again, despite the new coffee machine, hopefully it will have gone.

We chose this hotel because of its on site parking facility. But it was much more than that. It was clean. Our bed was large and comfortable and it was overlooking the old port. The breakfast was much better than expected and the service throughout was excellent. Would certainly return.

The hotel is very well located , the staff is very friendly , the restaurant has a wonderful view of La Rochelle and the food is excellent . The only bad point is the state of the carpet in m room full of stains , but I have been told that the hotel will be refurbished by the end of next year and this will be take care of .

Commun areas need of refurbishment, staff especially male need training to understand how to satisfy customers, first time in a hotel that's only offer one welcome drink when we are 2 and I am a diamond member of the group, only one bottle of water in the room. No sanitizer kits. Looks like the management have cut on everything even the quality of the toilet paper is very poor..I stayed the previous night at the Ibis at Charles de Gaulle airport and even it was a 2star the services were better. And to finish i received my invoice before checking out with services I never asked. I had to request to have them remove, this is pity to try to screw you like this by overcharging. i will write to city to ensure they review your Star status as this is fake unless I am missing something?

Nice place, nice room. Breakfast was very poor! Worst scrambled egg ever seen it was awful, I asked for a boiled egg or a poach egg instead but was told not possible. Then when we checked out I asked the lady at reception to call us a taxi she said yes but we are standing for 30 mins I went back in and she was like sorry I never got one just shrugged her shoulders! Just really bad service. Love La Rochelle but not your hotel

There was a wedding party going on untill 3 o'clock in the morning. Then the Breakfast not all the Covit rules were done by the other clients , I think a self service is not done. Then we had to take off one day earlier then we reserved because we had family in Belgium in Pepinster (the water affected area in Belgium) Mercure nevertheless just make the full account for 3 nights . Disappointing as your collegues Novotel did annulate without any account allthough they have also the right to take it in account.

Very modern and stylish hotel very close walk to Palace of Versailles. Good free buffet breakfast. Call ahead to book parking if needed as hotel spaces limited…very reasonable daily rate too.

The hotel is extremely well located, the staff were helpful and efficient. however the hotel itself cannot be rated at 4 stars.., more likely 2. The carpets in the corridors are soiled and worn. The room itself is small with a bathroom so small they use wardrobe doors. It’s yet another disappointing Mercure hotel that I have stayed in. I would suggest finding another in the town

All was excellent, except that I wanted a car park - it was full upon arrival. I had chosen the hotel for its location and car park so I was a bit disappointed.

Stayed for two nights. Appreciated private parking. Easy walking distance of all the attractions and restaurants around the Vieux Port. Pleasant room overlooking the port. Bathroom appeared to be newly decorated but fittings a little tired. Patches of chrome missing on sink taps. Shower head would only stay in one place. Hairdryer very dated. Staff all very professional and pleasant especially on Reception.

Have stayed before. Well situated near to the town, about 5 minutes walk away. Plenty of free parking on site. We had a privilege room, a bit smaller than some Mercures but fine. Staff very good. Breakfast, despite the covid problems, was very good, extremely well organised and the full fare was available. Look forward to our next stay.

We booked this hotel a week before our stay and booked it because it had private parking. We asked for a parking space when we booked.The day before our arrival we were informed that parking was not available as the Tour de France was passing through and that was to be given priority. We did find parking in a public car park - and had to pay 15 euro for it- but were disappointed we were not told when we booked The service from Accor is usually much better than that, especially as we are Gold Loyalty card holders.

This hotel is well positioned close to the railway station, the old port and the new marina areas. It has good facilites and a a restaurant overlooking the harbour offering good food at reasonable prices.

bathroom dangarous should have a bath mat as nearly slipped over in shower,bar area very small for size of hotel, should have some form of bar meals,snacks avalaible as you dont always want a full meal.
