Great hotel for a budget price. Rooms are compact (as you would expect for this price range), supper fairly basic (again, it is a budget hotel), but the staff/service was 5*. The communal areas are really characterful and comfortable with different places to sit, that make you feel that you are in different rooms/places. There is a superb swimming pool - but it is very cold in October! Breakfast also offers a good choice of food. This is a comfortable, safe and welcoming place to stay. It's about 10-15 minutes walk into La Rochelle.
