We stayed three nights. The hotel is located in a quiet and green area, and the old town is within walking distance. Good secure and free parking is available. It is a large hotel with restaurant, bar, and a swimming pool. Our room was spacious and nice with a comfy bed, mini fridge, safe, and coffee maker. Also fresh and clean drinking water was available on each floor. The team members at the front desk did a great job, whereas housekeeping was less impressive and the cleaning just ok. Breakfast was included in our stay and was a somewhat mixed experience. Some of the hot items were ok, but the bacon greasy and not well prepared. The coffee was good. A special barbecue evening with live music was arranged one of the evenings. The food was of a very mixed quality, with some of the beef being raw and inedible. We complained about this to the waiter, but were only offered a better knife. Also the accompanying music was ok, but too loud for comfort (unless this was supposed to be the main attraction.) The mediocre performance of the restaurant is the reason for the above rating, which would otherwise be higher.

Great location. Walking distance to park, beach, harbor and restaurants. Staff were outstanding, so helpful, spoke better English than my French. They all looked happy. We'll appointed room and accessibility facilities. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Would highly recommend....we kept extending our stay, day after day!!

This was our first time to La Rochelle. The Novotel was perfect in its location!! The rooms were a bit small with a family of four but it was clean and comfortable. Pool was great when the sun came out and I was pleased with the gluten free options at breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful.
