What was a good Ibis small hotel in La Rochelle ruined.

You have to be joking! This used to be a good hotel. We’ve stayed here a few times in the past. Since the Ibis owners turned their hotels over to franchise owners they’ve gone downhill. Here it seems they sought advice from a French battery chicken farmer and split the rooms in half. If your luggage is bigger than a small backpack forget it. Scruffy paintwork adds to the insult. You can barely get round the bed. Shame on the previous Ibis owners for doing this. They’ve ruined the brand.

Hotel was fine for a short stay although room would have been too small for a longer stay. Also, the AC didn’t really work so we had to make do with opening the window.

This hotel is the ideal location for getting around La Rochelle. It's very central to everything that you need. The staff are excellent and very helpful. The rooms are very clean and well maintained, the breakfast is excellent also.
