We reserved the rooms 2 weeks in advance, so our arrival shouldn’t have been a surprise. My handicapped grandmother and me waited 2 hours for the room after check in time before they let us in. The workers didn’t even apologize for that, and not compensated in any way. The workers told us they didn’t clean the room in time. after 2 hours, when we got the room, the room was very dirty. Dust on the furniture, dirty toilet, dirty carpet. On the next day, after breakfast, they didn’t let us use the coffee machine without paying extra, even though the hotel claims it is 4 stars. The workers were very rude and gave bad service. Around the hotel, criminal gang people are bothering and following the visitors.

Unfortunately, our stay at the hotel did not meet our expectations. Upon arrival, our room was not ready at the advertised check-in time of 2:00 PM, and we had to wait before we could check in. In addition, the first room we were assigned was in an unacceptable condition. The air conditioning and the refrigerator were not working, the room had not been properly cleaned, and the wall in the entrance area showed visible signs of mold. Only after we reported these issues were we moved to another room. The biggest disappointment, however, was the breakfast. I have stayed at Novotel hotels many times specifically because they have always been able to accommodate a gluten-free diet. On this occasion, I informed the hotel about my gluten-free dietary requirements several times: during the telephone reservation, again by email before our arrival, and once more at check-in. Each time, I was assured that this would not be a problem and that the hotel had suitable gluten-free products available. Unfortunately, the following morning it became clear that the hotel did not have basic gluten-free products such as bread or other gluten-free items that had been promised. As a result, our entire family was unable to have breakfast, and we left the restaurant hungry. This was the first time I have been so disappointed with the standard I have come to expect from the Novotel brand. Furthermore, the breakfast selection in general was very limited, which only added to our disappointment.

I want to say that I like to stay in your hotels and I tend to go back to the same hotels, whenever I travel. But I won't be coming back to this specific hotel. During breakfast time, it was a complete chaos. Food was missing in many trays, there were no clean dishes, no cups, no glasses, no cluttery. The staff couldn't organize themselves well. We couldn't have a proper breakfast. I have stayed in other All Accor hotels that are even cheaper than this one, but these other ones always manage to deliver a proper breakfast. Novotel Paris Val de Fontenay was simply disappointing. I thought it might be just that this particular day they were busy, but reading all the reviews online, it seems it is the rule. Too bad.

The room was nice, although a bit small. However, the price-to-quality ratio was good, so it offered decent value for money. The main downside was that here was quite a lot of dust in the room, possibly due to the carpet, and the towels also seemed dusty.

Our family stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. The front staff was friendly and helpful. The housekeeping, though, was disappointing. The was also no proper connection between the two teams. Our privacy was greatly disturbed again and again by housekeeping. Any request for complementary tea and coffee also cannot be done with the front desk.

The aircon system was not working and as the weather was so warm, I requested it to be fixed but was told it would not be done until 01/05/2026. This meant four nights that my son and I couldn’t sleep and the worst hotel stay I have had. This comes nowhere near an acceptable standard. The electric panel with light switch next to the bed was unsafe. It was hanging out of the wall, attached only by live wires. I must say that your maintenance man is excellent. He fixed the light panel quickly and his customer service is perfect, he clearly cares about the hotel guests and was keen to help me. He is an example of how customer service should be and he had already helped me with the safe as that couldn’t be used until he had fixed it.
