A fantastic hotel with pleasant staff. The room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast options were amazing with pastries, cereals, meats, cheese and fruits ,full english and other items were freshly prepared by the chef.

We were 'just about' satisfied with our stay. When we arrived on Saturday to check in after a 4 hour drive there were no staff to be seen, either at reception or the adjacent bar area. As there was no bell to alert anyone we had to ring the hotel - the phone on the desk in front of us rang for an age and eventually a young man arrived to assist (with no apology for us having to wait at least 10 minutes). In addition, the room we were allocated wasn't in the actual hotel, but in a separate building further up the drive (Elm House). Consequently there was no feeling of ambiance in our surroundings and we had to walk outdoors to and from the main hotel. The room was comfortable enough although the bathroom tiny. Although it was only a short walk, it wouldn't have been ideal had it been raining - and certainly not appropriate for a £200/night stay! On the plus side, the breakfast was a highlight - we were warmly welcomed in the restaurant by Wendy who was delightful, and the choice of delicious food was amazing.
