Firstly we visited for the horse racing at Newbury so arrived early Saturday morning. We weee allowed to register our car for the free parking. When we arrived back to the hotel we were given our room key room 117. We were told that it was party night and we’d experience some noise. Party noise wasn’t to bad to be fair by the time we’d watched a bit of tv and nodded off the party had finished. Then the next room think 118 decided to have their own party with all their banging and shouting, slamming doors and then knocking in them again shouting Jill. Wouldn’t be so bad but this went on til 4.30am. So sadly we won’t be visiting again because when we book a hotel room we actually like to sleep. Breakfast was food and a lot of nice options especially the cooked breakfast.

However, I’m very sorry that your night was disrupted by noise from the neighboring room. I arrived at this hotel to a warm welcome from the lady on reception. Once checked in I proceeded to my room. It was absolutely freezing in there, I initially thought the windows must be open, they weren't. So I located the heating controls and attempted to switch it on. It was broken. A portable radiator was in the room but unplugged. This indicated to me the the broken heating must be a known issue. I made my way back down to reception to report the issue & ask if another room was available. The lady on reception confirmed the heating in that room was not working. There were also no other rooms available. When i told her how cold it was in the room she offered another radiator, which I accepted. So on the plus side the receptionist was very helpful. After quite a long drive to get here all I wanted to do was have a shower and relax in my room. Shower was out of the question as it remained too cold in the room. The first couple of hours of my stay were spent in my coat wrapped in the duvet. There was no communication in advance of my stay to inform me of the problem and check if I wanted to continue with my stay. No information on arrival to inform me of the issue. If the room is not fit to inhabited it should not be let out!! Now let's move on the the cleanliness of the room, or rather lack of it. The toilet had not been flushed and contained a huge poo. The bath had soap scum in the bottom. I was assured it had been cleaned but I very much doubt it. Overall my experience here was shocking and one whi I will not be repeating.

Stayed here recently as we had an event to attend nearby and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. We were greeted in a friendly, warm manner on arrival. The room itself was clean and the bed/pillows were very comfy. The highlight for me was the breakfast in the morning - as someone who can't eat gluten, I was surprised at the amount of choice I had that I could eat. Normally breakfast is quite limited. Well done!
