Needed a place to stay for the night that wouldn't cost an arm and leg - yet this was perfect. Lovely staff, amazing clean room with the perfect facilities and breakfast topped it all. Thank you so much.

I know the hotel itself can’t help this, but the location can be quite intimidating as it is in an area with seemingly quite a lot of antisocial behaviour. They also seem to have suffered with staff cover/cutting costs as I had to arrive late, and there was a poster on the door to collect my key from the holiday inn around the corner. This made the place feel quite empty and isolated. I did not feel very safe going outside for a vape because I witnessed several clearly drunk/drug induced people. One screaming down à phone, another man behaving suspiciously. On my second night, four police officers were exiting as I was entering and they asked me if I worked there. I said no and dorected them to the holiday inn as they seem linked due to keycards. There were a lot of unsettling experiences. The room was good for the price and star rating. À bedside table would have been useful as I use a cpap machine so finding a space for it was tricky. There was also a desk chair but with no desk. And I wish I was a fly on the wall to whomever decided to put a fake window in with artificial lighting and when opened just shows you a white brick wall. That’s genuinely quite funny as a feature, and I can try to see the logic, but it was funny. It’s a shame that the area itself seems to need more support from funding, intervention etc, because although basic, the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely too, but I worry how long the meat cheese yoghurt etc is sat out for, and what happens to all the “waste” food as it didn’t seem very busy. My room also had a continuous noise, that sounded like the air conditioner, but even with that off it was still going. And any issue I had didn’t seem enough to try and locate a member of staff for as there were none when I arrived. It wasn’t terrible, but it also was not the most amazing place. It was about £59 for one evening with breakfast which in this economy is good. I just wish it felt a little friendlier and welcoming. I didn’t feel 100% safe.

The hotel was clean and comfy, but it is very basic. I was lucky to see the outside world from my room, my colleagues has a brick wall outside the glass of the window! I know hotels like this have to be cheap, but a little kettle and a few tea/coffee making bits would have been most welcome. The staff were nice.

I visit Swindon once or twice a year and always use the Ibis on Henry Street. Room are comfortable and I always enjoy the breakfast...but there are few observations and thoughts I have to share....

Check in was simple and the rooms were clean & the beds comfortable and for the price it was perfectly fine. The only negative was breakfast - only one staff member on, no guests' coffee machine so he spent all his time laboriously making barrista coffees (clearly didn't have time even to say 'Be with you in a moment'; no bowls for cereal & no grilled bacon until, of course, we'd finished so rather a disappointing start to the day ('The adventure begins' indeed) but otherwise all good.

Very small reception right by main door and lift , so you had to move out of peoples way all the time , one member of staff on duty all evening Manning reception the bar and cooking meals. So there was a wait to book in and at the bar. Rooms are ok for a budget brand lighting could be better. Breakfast was a let down I have stayed in ibis budgets in other towns but this hotel was by far the worst breakfast, again only one member of staff on duty , breakfast is advertised as English , American and contental, pancake machine not working, no bread no Danish pastries no cold meats half a dozen rashers of bacon , no cups by coffee machine that broke down no cutlery dirty tables ( two slices of toast a rasher of bacon and a slice of cheese is really not worth the money) .Ibis Swindon you left the brand down

Happy with my room, it's price and general operation of hotel. I told a member of staff I have gluten intolerance (this after emailing it too) & was told that there'd be GF bread available in morning. Only to find a different member of staff in the morning who couldn't locate any. Additionally, there was no marking up of allergens on anything food or drink-wise. I had black tea because couldn't be sure about milk (another intolerance). Sadly you are way behind other chains at which I have stayed recently on this , and lacking allergen information (which customer might not always want to ask staff for when they've already been unable to get something like GF bread) could actually cause customers a real problem.
