I have asked after several stays to confirm that my invoice will be emailed to me, and the receptionist has confirmed that they have my email and it will be sent. It hasn't been for the last 3 times, including my stay in October when I emailed requesting it 3 times with no response. I need the invoice to submit my expenses claim.

Overall a good experience - as usual. A few gripes though: i) despite being a 'new ibis room' wear and tear was present: the edge of the clothes 'closet' had a large piece chipped of it's edge; the bathroom was okay - but not newly redone - the grouting/mastic was somewhat grubby, and the soap dispenser, which was held on with (brown) impact adhesive, kept falling off. ii) One of the lifts was not working - I was only on the 8th floor, so usually took the stairs. However, no indication of getting the lift repaired as a matter of urgency. Nevertheless, the location is ideal, general cleanliness was good, and the breakfast was good.

The hotel was clean, quiet and the staff friendly. However I disliked: - not having any tissue available in the room - the breakfast had a sad looking fruit salad, cheap juices (from concentrate?) and a poor selection of teas. However the pastries were good. - contacting reception through Whatsapp doesn't work because messages aren't checked regularly. It's likely to be because the hotel doesn't have enough staff. The staff was friendly and efficient when you talked to them in person so it's not a productivity problem.

Good Hotel, with refresh design, young and energetic. Staff was nice and helpful. Breakfast was complete and easy to use. The bedroom was big, however the bed could be a little more comfortable, too though both the mattress and the pillows.

Review of Staff of Ibis (Reading): I commend the staff of Ibis Hotel Reading heartily and openly. Several members thereof merit singular recognition. (1) Romina and Amela of the reception staff  exhibit paramount profesionalism. Their winning deportment and puntual service are an asset to Ibis Reading. (2) Marianna and Daniela of the restaurant staff epitomize service excellence and conviviality. I enjoyed an wonderful breakfast the morning of my departure (22nd of November), prepared by the incomparable Marianna. (3) Inés Canico, Reception Team Leader of Ibis Hotel Reading, demonstrates consumate  leadership, managerial, and PR ability. Her profesionalism and punctuality are matched only by her customer care and charming personality. The ibis on Friar street in Reading has become my usual place to stay each November as per of a birthday celebration. I’ve chosen this venue due to the location and due to having a present stay previously I’ve returned year of year. This year however I was a little disappointed for two reasons. The first was that upon check in I heard what I believe was the manager using quite bad language and swearing at the till or computer system. This same computer system was the cause for my second issue of the evening. Later that night I went to reception to ask for a bottle of sparkling water, I was expecting to pay for this with my card or to have it charged to the room however neither of these options were accepted by the lady on duty that evening. I was told to go outside and find a cash machine and the return to pay by cash. This I feel is unacceptable as all I wanted was a bottle of water and on top of it 500ml of was for £2 is extortionate. It is my regret that I would have to strongly reconsider visiting ibis and may start to use the Novotel hotel next door in future.
