Room clean and comfortable Lighting issue reported but not fixed - desk lamp. Breakfast good- but no alternatives listed. Lacks attention to detail. No serving spoons! No tongs for items which meant customers were touching items . Not very professional to see management helping themselves to breakfast every morning during service! And rest of staff helping themselves to coffee. Have worked in catering and staff eat end of service!

It was a fabulous experience and the overall stay was really enjoyable. We will definitely be visiting again-Novotel in Reading and Novotel in other places with similar facilities! Was a great location- walking distance from station and walkable to all attractions and in the heart of the city centre . There were a few bus stops around with good range of buses. We planned to use them- but didn't need to as all was walkable. Room was self sufficient- iron, hair dryer , mini locker, mini fridge, shampoo, shower gel, handwashing, a large smart TV, kettle and tea & coffee. Drinking water was available from reception. Swimming, sauna & steam was onsite from 8 am to 10pm included in the price! Towels were available at the facilities with wet bags and hair dryer. The showers in the swimming area were broken- we were happy to use our room showers. 400point awaited for no clean of rooms which it offered if we opt out of daily room cleans- which we chose. The room was very warm despite starting the AC- so reception send us a massive table fan- which was a saviour! The sofa bed was slightly tired and worn- got stuck at the start- but we managed to sort it out. One of the bedside lights was faulty with the switch having migrated in- again- we managed to deal with this. The WC was separate and did not have a latch. There was a bath and a shower- again no locks. Bath mats were available on request. I was visiting with my teenagers, who felt slightly awkward without locks- but overall was fine. Toni, Nicole, Daniel were great. They helped with storing my special medication in the fridge and retrieve it later. I have mobility issues, so requested room near the lift- which was missed- but they changed it when I called a day before and realised this. We visited the Oracle which had bowling, Vue and all the shops you could think of. There was VR available close by which was scary and fun. Loads of restaurants with world wide cuisines including Italian, Chinese, India etc. We tried Taco Bell, Wing stop, Crispy Dosa among the few to mention and all were great. There are a few Tesco and Sainsbury outlets at walking distance, Lidl and Costco are at driving distance. I booked it for Easter holidays a week before- and to my surprise got a very good deal through Trip. com. Was a bargain- and at a price I could just about afford.

Booked as parking was advertised in the hotel. This wasn’t available when we arrived and had to walk 10min to a very scruffy car park with the kids and all out luggage. Room very dated with stains on the wall and was Not very well presented. It was a nightmare to get a lift down from the 10th floor and on a few occasions gave up waiting and walked down also had to walk up to the 10th floor on arrival with our luggage as there was a long wait for a lift. Very noise in the night and had to complain to reception at 11pm and we was trying to sleep.. definitely wouldn’t book again.

Staff very helpful! However, the room was very hot, even though the heating was off, we had to leave the window open all day and night :( Which is nit great, taking in consideration the noise coming out from the pubs in the corner! Other thing, had bad experience during breakfast during our stay, food not topped up constantly (looks like they were not expecting such number of customers between 9:30 and 10:30), zero mugs by the two coffee machine stations, every time had to remind staff about it… :( Also, was a struggle using the lifts, 2 out 3 lifts were operating during such a peak time (easter weekend), you can easily wait 10-15 min before getting a chance to take the lift and squeeze in! Again staff are nice, clean hotel!
