Lovely welcome, clean room, comfortable bed and happy staff in the bar area. Woken by a fire alarm in Sunday morning at about 6.15am.....was a shock, especially as it was a false or panel only problem.....!!! This aside it was again another happy visit to Novotel....

Nice hotel. Parking was a tad difficult to find, but after a call I manage to locate hotel car park. I thought the restaurant menu wasn't brilliant and did think of having room service, but didnt fancy staying in the room. Staff were friendly and noting extraordinary. Breakfast. Im not a smoked bacon fan, so that was disappointing and equally not a cumberland sausage fan either. Nothing wrong with a traditional pork sausage and dry cured bacon. The egg on the hot plate had been there a while. Day 2 breakfast I had cereal. Would I stay again, maybe.. sort out the air con in the room and highly likely if I ever get back to Reading

This hotel is smack bang in the middle of Reading. It's a stone's throw from the train station and all the shops. The staff are friendly, and the room/bedding was clean.

The room was too warm. Despite following the instructions on the thermostat. It did not cool. The bed was too hard- premier inn and holiday inn have much comfier beds. The room’s soundproofing did not stop the nightclub noise from across the street from coming in. Having a separate bath and shower was a nice touch. Breakfast was tasty.

Staff were friendly, and helpful. I was guest of the day and got upgraded to an executive suite as well as given 2 drinks at the bar and breakfast. The breakfast was really good. The room was lovely. The pool and gym were very nice too. Lovely experience.

Weird layout bedrooms and whole hotel smells of the swimming pool Reception team superb and bar team too , good location but stayed on 12th floor and can smell swimming pool throughout Toilet is opposite side it room from basin and bath, coffee outside loo but bin in bathroom, bathroom sink plug broken and just tired , breakfast team superb but breakfast average , malmaison is way better in all counts As I say all staff are brilliant but hotel needs updating in all areas when compared to similar priced hotels in Reading city centre

Great Customer Experience for my recent stay - I was greeted with the news that I was the Guest of the Day which meant I had a room upgrade, 25% off my food bill and 1 free drink at the bar - When I went to my upgraded room there was even a sign to welcome me as the GOTD along with a selection of chocolates and a muffin - the room upgrade was really nice too - so top marks to Novotel for making my brief stay a memorable and pleasant one, the room was nice & clean, staff were all very friendly & the food (and free drink!) were perfect for a rainy night in Reading as it meant I didnt have to leave the hotel! Thank you :o)

Room was nice, breakfast was very good. Room was too hot, had to ask for a fan. Spa facilities were a bit small and grubby.

Our air cooling/heating system admittedly doesn’t offer the same flexibility as a modern A/C would do. During winter months (when turned on) it would only provide heating. When I entered my hotel room, a man was asleep on the bed, as a woman travelling alone I was immediately concerned and alarmed. As I exited the room the receptionist was coming out of the lift and advised that I had been given the wrong key. As you can imagine this was very concerning for me and put me on edge for my whole night’s stay. When I entered my new room I was greeted by a pair of dirty socks on the floor by the window. Other than the above my stay was satisfactory.

Extremely well placed hotel and just a couple of minutess walk to the train station . The shops are literally on the doostep. Staff were very good. We were fortunate we managed to secure a car parking space in their underground car park as spaces are limited. However, the daily rate is £18 per day to park. Our room on the 7th floor was fine. The breakfasts were satisfactory. Didn't have time to explore the gym and swimming pool . We would have no qualms returning to stay.

Room was ok, bit tired and noisy from the street outside (didn't stop me sleeping). Too noisy and hot with heating on, needed to request extra duvet to sleep without the heating which is ok. I prefer a cold room. Food ok. Car park difficult to find in the dark and I ended up in the bus lane, recommend some driving instructions other than just the postcode, which my sat nav couldn't find. Staff were very pleasant without exception. Would stay again.

Nice accommodation but didn’t like separate toilet and washbasin in different parts of the room.
