When booking a hotel, I tend to be very particular, as photos posted online often don’t accurately reflect reality. However, when I arrived at Sofitel Istanbul Taksim, I was genuinely blown away the moment I stepped into my room. It was incredibly spacious, spotless, and featured premium bedding that made for a truly comfortable stay. The bathroom was equally impressive—large, modern, and impeccably clean. Staying away from home doesn’t always feel comfortable, but this hotel completely changed that experience for me. From the moment I checked in, everything felt welcoming and well thought out. Another major reason I highly recommend this hotel is its unbeatable location. No matter what time of day you step outside, you’re surrounded by restaurants, cafés, and a convenience store right across the street. The hotel sits directly in front of a beautiful mosque and just steps from Taksim Square, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Istanbul. The noticeable police presence in the area also adds an extra sense of security, which I personally appreciated. If I return to Istanbul, I would absolutely book this hotel again without hesitation.

We stayed 2 nights and included in our stay was breakfast as we are expedia vip members. We got questioned on both mornings before we were able to eat breakfast and they had to call the front desk to make sure. The wait staff at dinner in the lobby area were terrible. They cared more about going outside to smoke than to tend to their tables. There was only 3 tables! We had to go up and request the bill after waiting 40 minutes once we were done eating. Room was good, shower was good, cleaning staff were very friendly and professional. We've stayed at Sofitel in 2 other countries and they were much better than this one.
