The Galata Istanbul Hotel is fantastic, it is clean, the rooms are well appointed and well cared for. The restuarant has the most amazing views of Istanbul and the river and the food was excellent. Breakfast was a little limited on some choices, but what was available was fresh and very good.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! It has easy access to most attractions and public transportation, which makes it a very convenient location. The building itself is beautiful and elegant, with lovely interiors. The staff are super friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Our room was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The complimentary hammam experience was also a highlight. It’s a self-service hammam without staff, so you can enjoy the experience privately and at your own pace. It’s definitely worth trying, especially if you prefer not to have a stranger wash you. The view from the restaurant is also fantastic. I highly recommend grabbing a drink around sunset and enjoying the beautiful views of the Galata Bridge and the mosques. It’s a lovely way to have appetitive before dinner. Overall, a great experience and we would happily stay here again!

Good place

It all started when, after making a two-week reservation, I requested a room with a good view. Instead, I was given a room facing a wall just 1.07 metres away. This is below the minimum distance of 1.5 metres established by Turkish regulations. It was quite difficult to resolve the issue until one of the managers stepped in, and I am very grateful to him. He arranged for me to be moved to another room a few days later. The new room genuinely had a stunning view, and I appreciate the management for making that happen. Unfortunately, the new room had an even more serious problem. Whether it was caused by a ventilation system, generator, or some other equipment, the walls in the room were vibrating — including the wall directly behind the bed. Even the closed bathroom door would rattle because of the vibration. I am quite sure the management is aware of this issue, as I found reviews from guests staying in other rooms below mine describing the same problem. It is disappointing that apparently nothing has been done to resolve it. Even switching off whatever equipment is causing the vibration during the night would already make a significant difference to guests’ comfort and ability to sleep. The housekeeping was also not particularly good. When I first checked into the room, I found rubbish on the floor, which strongly suggested that the room had not been vacuumed before my arrival. The breakfast was also the most limited I experienced during four months of travelling, during which I stayed at around 20 different hotels. It was noticeably worse even than breakfasts I had at hotels in lower categories. For these reasons, unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel. At the same time, I would like to express my gratitude to the one manager who personally stepped in and made a genuine effort to resolve my situation. Unfortunately, the General Manager never responded to my email.

Excellent location. Comfortable well appointed room. However, the facilites you have are not maximised. Breakfast should be in the upstairs bar with the incredible view rather than the downstairs restaurant. The staff at breakfast were poor. Every morning we had to ask for coffee. Plates never cleared. Staff standing behind cooking station with no offer of the cook to order food. Food was not replenished promptly. A staff member almost pushed me out of the way to get through a gap between tables first! Housekeeping twice woke us by ringing the bell when we had do not disturb sign on. There were 2 sizes of coffee mug in the room, one of which was too large to fit under the machine, the other too small to hold the coffee the machine produced. Glassware in the room was not replaced when dirty. Guest relations lady was wonderful though, helpful and engaging. The saving grace was the comfort of the bed and the peace of a top floor room. This hotel had the potential to be excellent, but currently is let down by the details. So many little things which could make an enormous difference.

The hotel was spotless, the food was excellent, and the location was perfect. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Special thanks to Mr. Ulas Omay, Front Office Supervisor, for his impeccable service, professionalism, and valuable advice from the moment we arrived until our departure. He truly made our experience even more memorable.

We stayed here for 4 nights on B&B basis. Room comfortable, great shower .Great assortment of breakfast selection . Staff friendly & helpful .Well located with restaurants nearby . Approx 5 min walk to tram for easy access across the river. Would definitely recommend & stay again if in Istanbul.

Enjoyed our stay at MGallery very much. It was the last few days before our return back home and we thoroughly enjoyed them. We particularly liked the facilities of the hotel, very comfortable room, clean, nicely located, professional staff. Hamam was extraordinary. Certainly will be back!

We booked this hotel, as an Accor Platinum member, because of its location and because of the experiences we've had in other M Gallery level hotels around the world. It's certainly well located and we really enjoyed being close to the great winding streets of the Galata district, and the easy access to the Ferries, tram and funicular. The hotel itself is quite lovely by way of both exterior and interior design (lobby etc), though our experience as guests was 2nd rate. Other than a plate of fruit in our room on arrival, there was zero recognition of the platinum status - not even complimentary breakfast included on the Monday - Friday days that we were there - apparently this is only provided on weekends and we would be required to pay 25 Euros each per day. Consequently, we ate elsewhere every day we were there. We asked for two of the special pillows on offer, and whilst two arrived, they were completely not what we'd asked for. We asked housekeeping to bring up 2 x wine glasses and 2 x champagne glasses....after 30mins we called back as nothing had happened, then received just the 2x wine glasses. We didn't have a single spoon in the room, even though there were coffee and tea facilities. When we went to the bar the day after to get two more Champagne glasses, as our room had been tidied, they only had one (in a bar?). The room itself - we were in 1505, was quite poorly equipped by way of amenity, with zero bench space in the very small bathroom for the placing of any daily used products etc - a simply but highly annoying miss. The shower didn't have a full screen so every time it was used the floor of the standing area got quite wet, another simple design miss. We loved the view from the room and the ability to open the windows and listen to the sounds of Istanbul, that was excellent. All in all, and I very rarely write a bad review, we were quite unimpressed that a 4-5 star experience was really a 3 at best, for the price paid.

If it's important to you, check the exact size of the beds since the pictures can be misleading. Except for that, a great hotel- 5 minutes away from the Galata bridge and the funicular. At walking distance from main boat lines. Great breakfast, nice and gentle people. If you are into it, the haman is included 30min per day but book in advance. The amenities are also nice (free bottled water, pastries, fruit...). Comfortable rooms with Accor top grade matresses and pilows. Nice shower. All in all, a fair price for the quality given in a city that is far from being cheap.

I was a bit disappointed with the staff behaviour and level of customer service. As an Accor member, I’ve stayed at several Accor hotels around the world, and unfortunately, the hospitality at this hotel did not reflect the standard I have come to expect from Accor. I requested a slightly later checkout as I had arrived around 3am due to my flight schedule. Unfortunately, the staff were unable to accommodate the request, despite the hotel appearing to have more than half of its rooms vacant. I was told that the room I was staying in needed to be given to another guest, so a late checkout could not be provided. I understand that late checkout is subject to availability, but given the circumstances, I expected a little more flexibility and customer-focused service. Other than that, the hotel has a great location, close to the main attractions. Overall, the hotel has potential, but I feel the customer service and staff hospitality could be significantly improved.

We absolutely loved this hotel! Its prime location made our stay even more enjoyable. It's only a 5-minute walk to the iconic Galata Tower, which is perfect for sightseeing and exploring the area. The hotel is also very close to the Galata Bridge, we enjoyed walking across it and even used an underground tunnel to get to the other side, making it very convenient to explore both sides of the city. Additionally, we appreciated the complimentary two drinks at the bar, which was a lovely touch. Overall, a fantastic stay with great amenities and a superb location!

We were very satisfied with our stay. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and always helpful. Their excellent service made our stay even more enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay again.

We had a fantastic stay

We had a small mishap when we checked in and were told we were at the wrong hotel. Once the confusion was cleared, all was great at the hotel. Shahribanu Abdulaziz handles guest relations at the hotel and checked in with us numerous times to ensure our stay was going well. We would stay here again.

I've stayed at this hotel several times and its superb. Well located, super clean, great breakfast. Super friendly, helpful staff.
