Considering the price and the overall quality of the hotel, I would have expected a higher level of customer service, particularly from front desk staff. We were not informed about any facilities, even when I made a point of asking, and only overheard when we were checking out that there was a terrace available for use. Anytime we asked a question (Can you tell us about the hotel facilities? Can you recommend any local restaurants?) the response was along the lines of 'Well, what do you want to know??'. I would have loved to have known what time the bar was open from, or where the hamam was located, or what time checkout was, for example. Overall, we weren't made to feel especially welcome or looked after. However, the room itself was lovely, and the location was very convenient for getting around.

Here is the mail I sent on April 4th to H9… and I never got an answer: Hi Accor team, I left the hotel yesterday. Here is what I experienced: - I asked for booking massages in advance on the booking chat, nobody replied - 2nd evening, the sin of the bathroom fold down, we moved in a much smaller room in the 2nd basement. - The cleaning team came at 9:30am the day after and woke us up by knocking and ringing at the door… - We had a massage on Thursday evening, the professionals couldn’t speak English and it was expedited, it was far from expectations. On the top of it, despite we had different durations with my wife, we were in the same room, so when I finished I had to get up nearly naked in front of the other professional who gave me a towel and interrupted the massage of my wife. It was not professional at all. I didn’t want to raise all those criticisms in front of the customers, I shared it with the customer manager who discounted nuts from the minibar and 2 coffees... I have never experienced such disappointment, even in an Ibis. It was my long weekend with my wife, first in 10 years without our kids, you have no idea what I feel. I am not expecting a discount on a future trip, I expect a proper reimbursement of at least one night in the hotel.

The Hotel is nice and the staff are great but this is not a 5-star experience. 5-star hotel are exeptional luxury experience, this is far from it. The room are small and noisy. The housekeepers are noisy don't repect the client. There is no attention to details. It seems as if the employees don't have a manager.

We were a family of four staying just one night en route from Cairo. The Galata is a fantastic hotel in a great location with excellent service from all the staff. We didn’t get to explore all the amenities as we spent the little time we had touring the iconic sites. Loved everything about it, great neighbourhood, lots of cafes, restaurants are just a short walk up the hill. Be ware it’s quite hilly - think Lisbon. Would stay here again but for longer.
