Reception was understaffed - ruined check-in experience

Reception was understaffed. There was a long queue and waiting took very long. Pre-checking did not help at all. The reason was that a guest's pre-payment had - apparently - bounced. The clerk left for the back office to deal with it and then there was no personnel at the reception at all. Guests kept coming, wondering where the staff was and nothing was happening. Space got crowded and children became anxious. Had a second person been there to attend to the other guests, everything would have probably been just fine.
