Its a construction site.. well not much you can do about it... but also this was not at all communicated before booking.. the receptionist gave my room also to the next guest, who then entered my room with his key... The hotel staff did nothing about it (apologize, make sure that my key works (it didn't), etc)

The hotel absolutely does't correspond to the level of 4*. There were no tea, no coffee, no slippers, no bathrobe, not even shampoo and shower gel in the room. Only liquid soap. The rooms have disgusting pillows, high and consisting of lumps. I asked staff member Ahmed twice for another kind of pillow, he said there was no other kind of pillows in the hotel. And I slept on a towel for three nights. For 170 CHF per night. My neck still hurts. On the 4th day, the employee Vasilius finally gave me another pillow, so another kind of pillow exists. It's just that no one wanted to do it. And it doesn't matter that the guest sleeps on a towel. The hotel lobby is undergoing renovations. I was assured that it is not heard in the rooms, but it is not. In the room 332, a drill and a hammer were perfectly audible. At 8:30 in the morning I woke up from these sounds. And you can hear the neighbors and maids. There is no soundproofing in the rooms at all. My room was opposite the ironing room where the maids came every morning at 6:00 am. They turned on the vacuum cleaner there, changed nozzles, talked on the phone.I could hear absolutely everything. I was offered another room, but it was completely smoky, and I can't breathe tobacco smoke. Vasilius offered me breakfast as compensation, but I didn't want a breakfast. If I wanted to have breakfast at the hotel, I would book a room with breakfast. I need to be able to sleep comfortably in a 4* hotel. That was my only request: "Please give me a quiet room." Not such a difficult requirement for a 4* hotel, don't you think? But I didn't even get that. A particular story with a deposit, which without warning or explanation is taken from the guest at check-in, CHF 350. As I was told: "In case you take something from the mini-bar." I wonder what? It's empty. It's just insulting. I wrote to Accor support on March 4th. I was told that they would take my letter directly to the Novotel Zurich City-West. I have never received any answer. I have never met such an indifferent attitude in any Novotel hotel. Employees are absolutely indifferent to how their guest feels. I wanted to change the hotel but, unfortunately, I did not have enough time for this. I had to suffer all my staying. I like Switzerland very much and go there often for a work. Very polite, sympathetic and attentive people live in this country. But I will never return to Novotel again. You have lost a regular customer.

The hotel was under construction (the lobby and pretty much the main floor). I was not aware of this while making the reservation a few days before the trip. I wish it was disclosed. Also, after checking out, I received a phone call from the hotel that they couldn't process my card. I called them a minute after and provide my other credit card (please note that my credit card doesn't have a limitation. I was blocked by the bank due to a concern of fraud by Novotel).
