The room was well appointed. The front desk staff at check in were great. Breakfast was very nice but not good for vegans. The room and overall atmosphere of the hotels was not really someplace I’d stay with kids. The room has a tinted window into the bathroom. When the room lights are off and the bathroom lights are on there is no privacy. The lobby is very lively with the restaurant and a bar. It’s a fun atmosphere for adults. Also was walking distance to the center of the old town. Also I had emailed a couple of times before the stay and they responded quickly which was helpful.

The Hotel is extremely well situated right in front of the tramway so it’s really easy to access. The staff I encountered were welcoming, friendly and very helpful whenever I needed to drop by baggage before and after my stay. A special thanks to the lovely lady with Ghanaian roots who recognised my Ewe’s name! It warmed my soul because it’s been ages since anyone had called me by that name out loud. It’s a nice feeling when travelling. The room was actually clean and not just on a surface level (little to no dust on the furniture). The garden view with a balcony was a nice touch to a spacious room. The breakfast offered lots of options, but I wish the vegan options were more visible and present: for example the selection for plant-based drinks was thin in number and liquid quantity and I had to ask for it because they were placed in an area not easily visible from afar. Overall, for my first solo trip in Switzerland 👌

We immediately took your comments very seriously and reviewed the situation internally with our breakfast kitchen team and the responsible departments. We also checked whether there had been any similar feedback from other guests. At this stage, we have not received any further complaints or indications of issues related to the breakfast buffet or the smoked salmon in particular. The smoked salmon is also one of the items on our breakfast buffet that is replenished regularly throughout the service and therefore has a high turnover. Nevertheless, we will continue to monitor the situation closely and continuously review our procedures to ensure our quality standards remain fully maintained. We are sorry to hear that your stay did not fully meet your expectations, particularly regarding the room layout and the upgrade request. You had reserved a Classic Room category. These rooms are located on the interior side of the hotel and therefore do not offer direct daylight or exterior views. For guests wishing to enjoy views over Bern’s Old Town and the Alps, we recommend our Premier or Swiss Advantage Rooms. Detailed room descriptions and photos are available on our website as well as on booking platforms such as Booking.com and Expedia. We also regret the disappointment regarding the upgrade. While upgrades for ALL Accor members are always considered with priority, they remain subject to availability at the time of arrival. Unfortunately, during your stay, no complimentary upgrade options remained available. We understand that this was frustrating, especially after expectations had been raised, and we sincerely apologize for this experience.
