Would have been better if you could open the windows for some fresh air. The best Accor hotels have this the others don't- just recycled air! Won't stay again because of this.

This was an odd experience. A lovely warm welcome at check in, status recognised etc. Room great. On arrival I asked about laundry as having been travelling for some time I needed to get some clothes cleaned. The guy told us as long as we drop it with reception by 9am it will be back by 6pm same day. Ideal. Next morning around 7am I dropped it to be told there is no laundry service at the weekend. I also had to wait ages before anyone attended reception which was a common theme - apart from the morning of check out, every time I went to reception there was no-one there and they also have no call button or phone to get anyone. You just have to wait. Canberra is a ghost town with very few people anywhere despite this being in the CBD. The hotel seems to reflect this! Other sub-optimal experiences were being asked to leave the bar mid morning where we were working (the only real communal space in the hotel) with drinks we had bought there. This was because they were closing the area! Why? Also in the hotel coffee shop the server (who to be fair did not have English as a first language) did not understand what toast was. I just wanted standard buttered toast but she really struggled and I ended up with a toasted butter sandwich: most bizarre.

Pros were great city location and clean and cosy rooms, comfortable bed. Cons were no smart TVs and loud fan.
