Unfortunately at no time from the booking being placed was I informed that the restaurant would not be open for meals just told that Menu log deliver. All surrounding bars and restaurants were open I found this to be an inconvenience as we had to leave relatively early each day and would have enjoyed breakfast. And being a paying Accor member once again was unable to take the advantage of a discounted meal. I feel that paying the membership fee should equate to being able to use it. I am finding it even more difficult to find accommodation that is not already booked either.

Everything was handled very well even my request for a high room and parking. The only negative was no restaurant at the moment. Co-vid made it hard for everyone

Staff are fabulous. Wish at least the coffee shop would have been open for a coffee/sandwich but apart from that will be back.

The check-in is on level one Almost all hotels have check-in next to where people get dropped off Not have to lug the bags upstairs Since the signage for reception leads new guests up the stairs.

Check -in was welcoming and organising the car parking was easier than I expected. Unfortunately the room configuration we requested for our kids wasn't provided so one had to sleep on a pull-out bed which consumed a third of the space in their room. Despite reception saying it'd be rectified the next day, it hadn't when we returned after a day out sightseeing and housekeeping was 'closed'. It was a bit of a bummer for the kids but it was the little things you expect from a hotel that added to it and let us down like, no towel rails at all to hang wet towels, no spare towels nor even a toilet brush for either bathroom. Only 4 coat hangers between two rooms and no hanging space for anything longer than a shirt. The main bathroom had soap scum on the shower wall and we were provided one pillow per guest. The room is located next to a main intersection (highway) so there is traffic noise all day and sirens at night along with drag racers. Strangely none of the hotel photos on the website show this. To top it off the cafe/restaurant was closed so you have to go out to eat/drink. I doubt we'll be back any time soon.

Not as Good as Previously

I have stayed at the Mantra MacArthur on previous occasions (before the Covid shutdown) and found the hotel to be great. However, this stay was different. The price was great. But there was no daily housekeeping. When we asked about this we were told that the government had requested that the housekeeping be limited to 'Weekly Housekeeping' to prevent any Covid spread, fair enough. Only thing is when we made the booking on line there was no mention of the fact that there was no housekeeping. I believe that this should be clearly stated prior to finalising bookings. Next - the carpets in the corridors and in our room were horribly stained, the floor of the lift was dirty for the entirety of our stay and the coffee cups in the room had not been washed thoroughly. One cup had a hair in it and the other had coffee stains. It was disappointing to think that basic cleaning practices were not to a better standard. I do hope that these problems can be rectified.
