Feedback for improvement. TV only works intermittently, signal kept dropping out. No ice facilities in hotel and fridge is not get cold enough to freeze ice tray. Would make sense to place a sign beside the AC control to let guest know that the AC will not function unless the window is closed.

When we arrived, the room smelled of sterile urine, but since it was late at night, we were unable to locate the source of the smell. The next morning we found that the previous person staying in our room obviously had a dog with them, which had urinated all over the carpet and the rug in the living room of our two bedroom apartment. When we reported this to the staff on duty, they were extemely helpful and relocated us to a different room. Despite this, it is a major concern that we were put in a room that was used for pets - this should be disclosed at booking, or the hotel policy should be changed to not permit animals in rooms. It also should have been picked up by the cleaners and it should have been addressed prior to our arrival, rather than it being found by us and then requiring us to ask for it to be addressed. I stay regularly at Accor hotels and am not comfortable staying in rooms that are also used for animals, and I am also not happy that I had to pay over $200 to stay in a room on our first night with dog urine all over the carpet.

The hotel itself is lovely. My room had everything I needed, and was clean and well appointed. The shower is especially nice, with a big shelf to store your stuff. I also appreciated that an iron and washing machine were included. The main problem came about with checking out. I had rung the hotel before booking and was told that my bags could be stowed at reception during the day. No one mentioned that this service is not available before 8am. I subsequently waited around for the staff member opening reception until almost 8:10 on the Monday morning. The gentleman, who may have been a senior manger, did not apologise and only offered as an excuse that he had been caught in the lift. I do not buy this, and was consequently angry and possibly rude. But given his attitude I believe this was warranted. I normally would have tolerated this, but I was graduating nearby and could not take my bags with me. It made an already stressful day more difficult before it even began. I would stay at this hotel again because of the facilities and location. But given Canberra is a business town the lack of official checkout before 8am is strange, at best, and a simple apology could have diffused my anger quite effectively. The absence of this was really frustrating.

Staff were happy to accomodate and move our rooms when we went into our original assigned room to find a strong pet tribe smell and scratches on the door from a pet being locked in a room, all the windows open,, floor still damp and visible signs of pet stains on the floor. We were not aware this was a pet friendly accomodation and I think it would be appropriate to have a floor or number of rooms assigned for pet owners. One of us has a cat allergy so it is important to know. There was no instructions on how to use the washer/dryer and it did not seem to be functioning properly as per our googled instructions. Location, comfort and staff were great though.
