After three attempts to get the booking details correct, I was surprised to be wakened on Friday with expectation that we were checking out... we had already told your reception that our check out was Saturday AM NOT Friday. It seems that contagious dyslexia is rampant amongst your booking staff. Otherwise I would commend the staff at the bar and restaurant who met all our needs well. On another matter the lift was filthy. it seems not to have been cleaned for an age. Despite these shortcomings we would recommend the Mercure to our friends when visiting Canberra.

Upon arriving in my room, I found debris on the bed and in the bathroom. The windows were open and I guess cleaning the outside of the building had made its way inside. The staff were excellent and had it cleaned promptly. Even offered to move rooms. I wish I had because that room was incredibly noisy with people using the stairs and doors opened and shut constantly for about 30 mins. I have stayed here a few times and always been happy, I will just make sure I ask to not be in room 400 again.
