Reception staff pleasant and I was grateful to have a nice young man help me take our cases to our room, while my husband parked our car in your very convenient secure car park (which we had pre booked). Our so called Superior room was not, compared with other hotels, superior. It had cheap wooden furniture: a tiny wardrobe (we were staying for 4 nights) and bedside tables with drawers not easy to close. The safe was not working, which we informed receptionist about in person the morning after we arrived. She made a note of this, assuring us it would be fixed. It had still not been mended by the morning we checked out 4 days later! We intended to have dinner in the hotel. We were told the bistro was the only option as the restaurant was not open. The bistro was a rather disappointing, tacky cafe attached to the pub. Needless to say, we left and went elsewhere to eat. Breakfast in this same unappealing “bistro” was adequate, but the usual uninspiring buffet. This was a popular time in Canberra, so why was the restaurant and the terrace not open, and why were we not informed when we booked? The appeal of this hotel are the external photos of the main entrance and the courtyard. It is advertised as 4 star, which it most definitely is not. It was highly overpriced, especially for one of the nights. All in all, very disappointing, especially because of the lack of a decent restaurant where we expected to have breakfast (as advertised) and, dare I say, expected to have an evening meal. Considering all the popular events, including Floriade, I would have thought a decent restaurant, in what is claimed to be a 4 star hotel, should have been open. I did begin to answer this questionnaire soon after arriving home, but was waylaid. What has prompted me to do so now is the fact that I received my customary Luxury Escapes latest offers in my email this morning. I have to say this is in no way up to the usual Luxury Escapes standards.

We love mecure at braddon.olems disappointed seems to not be quality used to be.annoyed had to pay extra to get good coffee despite paying for two breakfasts. Did not have sign to say no clean so had to tell cleaners ok not to clean room very clean though. Checking our receptionist talked too fast and talked into computer screen and seemed irritated when kept asking cannot hear you.no pleasant goodbye. Overall loved our stay. Place looks a bit sad and needs some upkeep.

The person who checked in was clearly very sick and should not have been at work. Although a beautiful building, it was dated needed to be painted and given some attention. The corridor around 407 smelled very strongly of beer. To make it worse, I was charged twice when I arrived and after I left very disappointed about that
