The Mercure is an older style hotel and not suited to disabled guests from what I could see. The rooms are comfortable and warm. Breakfast was hit and miss. The bacon always seemed to be cold even on the day we were first through the door. A tip for anyone using the breakfast room is avoid the table nearest the coffee machine. The floor is very bouncy and makes drinking a coffee interesting.

The staff were excellent and always helpful, however, we chose the hotel because it had excellent reviews for breakfast buffet and it started early in the morning. Unfortunately the breakfast was terrible. Pieces of fruit were rotten, the hot food was poor, the scrambled eggs were liquid and not edible, the coffee machine didn’t work, and the juice jug was blocked. Additionally, the clean plates in dining room were dirty and had food left on them. The hotel was in a good location and easily accessible.

The property was cold. The fire in the bar lounge was unable to be regulated and was set very low. The breakfast was poor, scrambled eggs were watery, bacon was tasteless, coffee machine kept not working and you had to put your bread through the toaster 2or3 times to get it brown

We were enjoying our stay until my child had a frightening experience with 4 dachshunds off their leashes in the corridors of the hotel . There owner was at least 30 metres away from them and they were not under control. The dogs chased and barked at my child. Fortunately when I went to the front desk-Rosa listened to my concerns, spoke to the owner and followed up with me.

We stayed as a family of 4 for two nights in a loft room. Staff were friendly, buffet was great, central location. There was a significant leak that came through the roof both nights which was loud enough to wake us and saturate the carpet. The mattress on the sofa bed was also terrible with springs that stuck into your back. Would have been a perfect stay without these issues.

We came here for a quiet getaway and that's exactly what we had. Location is great, bus at the door for sightseeing, short walk to War Memorial and Canberra Central. Location is peaceful, not sure if safe to walk at night, we chose to stay and eat at Olims bistro which is within the hotel. Staff at reception are very friendly and helpful. Professional and warm, especially afternoon staff.

The whole hotel was just lovely, room amazing, spacious and had everything we needed. Hotel meals were lovely and affordable. Only negative thing was the bath/shower head. Water went in every direction, making showering not as pleasant as we’d hoped.
