The staff are amazingly friendly, efficient and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable, clean and the location is close enough to walk to the city centre whilst being just outside the traffic hub to be able to get wherever you need to go with minimal fuss.

Smallest room I’ve ever had there and the shower washers need changing.. dripped all night.. couldn’t turn the taps off any further. Floor boards need nailing down carpet over the top doesn’t stop them from creaking

We booked a courtyard room for a long weekend. It had French doors looking out to the lovely garden. Large room with comfortable king bed. Good breakfast with choice of hot and cold foods including poached eggs to order. My husband wasn’t well one morning so the manager offered to make up a hot plate for him to have in the room. The hotel also has a bistro which is convenient. Walking distance to the war memorial and local shopping centre for the Floriade shuttle bus. We would stay here again.

Beautifully maintained heritage hotel with Wallabies memorabilia. The staff at Mercure Canberra are lovely and welcoming, accommodating every request. I arrived early and they quickly found me room to check into. I was able to leave luggage for the day without any issue. Location good as it is close to the National Triangle with the War Memorial and monuments, and well serviced by public buses.

Generally enjoy staying this hotel. Two things that need attention. The room toilet want particularly clean with excrement on the top of the bowl when you lifted the seat. Really need to do something about the breakfast coffee machine. Not sure I've ever seen it working properly.

Great location, nice room BUT our first nite experience at your restaurant soured our stay. On Thursday 17 Sept we visited your restaurant in the afternoon to look at menu, book a table etc. We were told by a lady at the bar there was no need to book as it was usually quiet with ‘walk in’s’ the usual clientele. We went down to dinner around 7-7.30, the place was packed, not a spare table to be seen. Fortunately we saw someone leaving so grabbed their table as they left. I went to order our meal, there were NO table numbers left so I had to wait till a staff member could find an unused table number somewhere out in the chaos!! Finally got one and my order taken. We sat near the kitchen and watched the staff run off their feet trying to respond to countless orders lined up. A new chef turned up and she seemed to take control. After about 75mins of waiting this new lady came out to our table and said she could see our order number on the table but there was no order for this in the kitchen, she asked what we ordered, apologised and said she would get our meals done asap. Oh, and by the way I ordered pepper sauce and there was none of this left so could I pick another sauce OR if I wanted to wait longer she could make more pepper sauce for my meal. I chose another sauce. Our meals arrived in à remarkably quick time given the chef had not long taken our order. My wife’s meal was terribly presented and tasted the same. My schnitzel was very over cooked, not sure how given the timeframe since we spoke to the chef. All in all the night was a disaster! Not only for us but the many people around us who we could hear complaining about the extraordinarily long wait for their food. Look, we vote with our feet. We had originally planned to eat in at your hotel for the 3 nights of our stay. Our really disappointing nite on the first nite changed our plans completely, we were not going back to risk the same thing happening again, so we visited elsewhere for the remaining 2 nights and spent our $$ elsewhere. And we found some really nice venues which we can recommend to other people. It is such a shame our experience on night one was poor, all starting with our request to book a table being deflected off to just walk in. I am a straight shooter having worked in a client delivery environment for 40 years. I hope my feedback improves the service provided to your future clients.
