Disappointed after previous excellent stay

This was our second time at the hotel. We had a great time on the first visit, but the second was disappointing. The entire bathroom flooded due to a blocked drain and this spilled into the bedroom. It also meant we couldn’t shower in the AM before our flight which was the purpose of our stay. Secondly, the TVs didn’t work. A third disappointment is that despite telling the front desk about this at 10pm the night before we checked out, no one has contacted me about it post visit. It was a suite so would have expected better attention. Disappointed, unlikely to return.

The hotel is lovely, staff were attentive and welcoming, a couple of points to note We asked for a taxi, this arrived and we were charged £40 for a 5 Mike trip, I think that whilst most guest could afford this I really do not like paying through the nose and perhaps guests should be given an option on the type of taxi, a nice Mercedes is not really necessary for 5 miles at that price The breakfast was in a lovely setting and the layout and choice was impressive however the food lacked flavour, the basics are important and could have been better The dinner in Moreish was very good even if my Wife’s meal came with almonds sprinkled on top which it didn’t mention in the menu, this was taken away and replaced but could have been avoided and in my wife’s case could have triggered her nut allergy. Also my Wife asked for a glass of tap water but was brought a £6 bottle of water which again was complexly unnecessary. I don’t want to be negative but little things are important and does not change the fact that the hotel is fantastic
