From checking in to restaurants and bar, the staff was either not trained or made you feel welcome. In many cases over a week I am not sure how many really understood English or the menu. And telling your guest is not an excuse. And having a cold shower, broken iron and stain my clothes and not really care is inexcusable.

All around a pleasure staying at the Fairmont. One thing I would like to call out, your night time receptionist did an exceptional job at waking me up, keeping me company waiting for my cab and getting me a coffee to start the day right before going on my trip back home.

First impression of the hotel was good. Was greeted at the door, had help with my bags, check in was excellent. I ordered room service and the food was good. As the night wore on the hotel was not well insulated and my room got very cold. I turned the heat up but the termostat would not go higher than 77 degrees. The room certainly was not near 77 degrees as it was losing the battle to the outdoor unseasonable temperatures that night and frankly I was quite cold. In a $400 USD + per night hotel this was very disappointing. However upon waking up in the morning I had my next shock. Not a drop of hot or even luke warm water. Ice cold water. Apparently the hotel had a full outage. Taking a cold shower after a cold night in the room was really disappointing. The next night was not quite as cold and while the room remained colder than I was comfortable it was not nearly as bad as the night previous and hot water did return for my second day. So the first half of my stay honestly was horrible. An ice cold shower, a cold room and honestly not even close to a $400 experience let alone a $79 experience to be frank. The cost of my dinner that night outstripped the value of the room and the cold shower if I am to be 100% honest with you. Second night was fine. Upon check out I did bring this up to the front desk and while they apologized they made no real attempt to offset the problems of the hotel on that first night. Honestly I was very disappointed. That first night was terrible is the truth and I dont believe you made an honest effort to care for your guests based on that experience. I am not one to complain and I like to hand out compliments but you guys dropped the ball badly on this one. It was far short of what I expect from a Premium brand.

The hotel property is great. However my stay at the ISG conference event was impacted by your over zealous bar manager. He really spoilt what would have been a lovely evening. He refused to serve a client of ours for no apparent reason - he started out by saying the bar was shut, but we pointed out that the staff were serving the entire rest of our group the manager switched tack and essentially admitted it was his decision was based on nothing else other than his ability to refuse. He started to say our client was drunk but then we pointed out he was not drunk and had not caused any issues your bar manager dug his heals in and just refused. Very very embarrassing and caused a spoiler on the evening. I think your bar manager should be given some better training and he should apologise to the client for the embarrassment caused. I will also be raising this with the event organisers as they need to know this is how clients get treated at the property before they consider using the property for future events.
