I had a great stay. Very clean room, very nice friendly staff. It was a shame about the fire alarm going off as that made us have to skip breakfast as otherwise we would have been late on getting to our appointments for the day, we were very much looking forward to eating downstairs at the club. Next time.

The only part i did not like was that when looking at the hotel it appears there was an option for room service and breakfast on site but there was no room service and breakfast was at the next door club.

Overall, a good stay, clean and modern rooms. $10 parking per night which is reasonable. Down points, the front desk wasn't very friendly especially on checkout. The fire alarm went off for around 20 mins at 8am which was a bit disturbing on a sunday morning, which ruined our sleep in.

Nice new hotel, service could've been better

I stayed one night at the Mercure Canberra Belconnen. It's a new hotel and quite a nice fit out. Room was spacious and clean. But the service could have been better - firstly, I'm an Accor Gold member so am entitled to a late checkout. I requested one when I checked in and was told I could check out the next day at midday. However, at about 11am, someone knocked on our hotel room door to ask if we were checking out, despite being granted a late checkout. Secondly, the fire alarm went off at 8.30am - I know this is out of the hotel's control but it made the experience unpleasant. There was no further communication from the hotel as to what happened.

I can't complain in general from the accommodation. but I'd like to point to things for improvement. - Refund from the first payment can't take this long to happen. I left in the Thursday (25/11) and so far no refund - Your pillows are terrible, too high.

Rooms here are very good - well lit, good functional bathrooms and comfortable beds. My only criticism is the room safe. It is very small (too small for an Ipad). Staff are very welcoming and switched on.

This is my go to hotel for any trips to Canberra. It is clean comfortable and staff are always very obliging. It’s attached to the Canberra Labor club (Belconnen) which has a great bistro for Dinner. I’m always very satisfied after a stay at this hotel. I would recommend this hotel.

This is the best service I've received at a Mercure hotel. The front office staff phoned me every couple of days and asked me if I needed anything - I was extremely pleased and surprised when they brought me batteries for my mouse and a more comfortable office chair so I could work from the room. The only major item that I was slightly disappointed is when I checked out the very helpful attendant said he would waive all the minibar charges, and I found out the next day I was charged $8.10. I'm not troubled given the amount is insignificant, but it was a surprise given what he had said. The rooms were excellent. Some points of improvement: 1. The room shower had a slight leak, but it wasn't significant enough for me to report. 2. The TV did not have cable TV beyond just Sky News, which I thought was not sufficient for a Mercure hotel.

Checked in for 2 nights and upgraded to highest floor room. Nice gesture of a wine bottle on account of my trup. thanks to reception team. As Accor Plus member, Dinning benefits for my breakfast charges was not given though was explained to the restaurant staff. Informed front desk at check out but still the credit card charges were not adjusted ?? dont know why this is difficult to implement.
