It's the third time I stay at this Ibis because of its convenient location. I like the room decoration (a bit deviation from the standard Ibis). The staff is friendly and helpful. Having Terranova, a sparkling wine from Northeastern Brazil, as an option at the front desk convenience bar is a plus. Keep up the good job.

Ibis Style offers comfort and value for money, and is a step up from Ibis Budget. Ibis Style Botafogo is well located to move around Rio for both business and leisure being situated across the road from the Botafogo metro station. A good selection of bars and restaurants in the Metro square, and the hotel is a short walk from Botogofo Praia Shopping.

People were very attentive and efficient. Hotel was nicely decorated and clean. But the rooms are too small (compared to other Ibis I am used to staying) and its painful to walk without space between the bed and the walls. Most important, there is NO way one can work without a proper table in the rooms.

The cleaning of the room has to be improved: the blanket, which was inside a plastic bag, had a smell of already been used, meaning that it was not washed after the last guest has used it; the bath towel on the bathroom seemed to be clean, but it was kind of thrown on the support; there were some hair strands from past guests, which were not cleaned. The breakfast can also be improved with more options, which are very limited. The concierge attendants are friendly.

Staff is very nice and attentive, but hotel has some flaws that put it behind the regular Ibis options in Rio - and it's priced similarly (or even higher) than Ibis, so it is a worse quality/price ratio. Room is smaller than Ibis, more basic in terms of furniture. Mattress on the harder side but ok, linen and towel reasonably good (as in Ibis, no face towels are made available). Then there are the project flaws that are hard to solve: water pressure / volume is quite low (at least in the top floor), and if you take a shower at a time that many other guests are also taking, it will be a frustrating experience (once I took 20 minutes to shower because there was simply not enough water volume). If you use internet at the same time that many other guests are using, it can be really slow. Those issues are project mistakes: the hotel was not designed taking into account its full capacity. It also feels cheaply built. in my first room the reading lights above the bed were not working. They tried to fix it but one of them had other issues; they proposed to move me to another room. breakfast was very basic as well - variety is good, but quality was very average. In short, a case of style over substance.

First night was really good. A very friendly woman with good english welcomed us. The next morning we booked another night via booking.com and justed wanted to check of we could keep our room. That staff wasn’t as nice. They asked us to pay the upgrade from the day before and when I wanted to check if I hadn’t already paid the upgrade the man seemed to be a bit upset. Then the whole process took very long time. We were asked to pay the two different amounts in different transactions, even though we have to pay a fee each time we use our swedish credit card. (Solved it by using cash for one). But the rooms are nice and the area is nice!

I arrived early in the morning after a red-eye flight and there was no room available for me. I'm not sure if there was a miscommunication in my reservation as I was expecting to check in first thing in the AM so I could shower and perhaps take a power nap before going to work. There was also a major leak during check-in which resulted in water pouring through the light fixtures at the front desk, which was concerning from a safety perspective. There were also issues with the AC not functioning in my room that persisted for several days and required at least 4 requests/complaints to different members front desk staff at various times. It seems they were forgetting about my request or not telling the next shift (night vs. day) about the issue so it would be handled. I would recommend a better system to track these in the future so it does not fall upon me, the guest, to continually push and remind people about the same issue. They did offer me a handicap accessible room for one night that had working AC, but even the following day nobody had come by to work on the AC in my original room until the end of the day when I called in to check on it and was told it hadn't been done yet. And despite being told they would call me to verify it was completed this did not happen which prompted me to waste an hour traveling back to the hotel to check on it personally.

I found the rooms to be adequate however room service in my opinion is good but not enough to give the guest service especially regarding the lack of waiter for room service. The hotel reception is good but lacks a little more organization. In general my opinion is that for business service meets us.

The hotel is located in a quiet spot of Botafogo a block away from the metro station and a mall. Bars and restaurants are very close. The room has a private bathroom and TV and I found it comfortable. Breakfast was included which was great with a good selection of fruits, cereal, egg, chorizo, etc. The staff was quite helpful. I arrived early and they kept my luggage while I visited Sugar Loaf. I was also able to check-out early in the morning at 3 a.m. The neighborhood seemed fine and I never felt at risk. I found it a very good value for the money.

I guess I'm just a bit bored with the Ibis Styles concept. Once it included free breakfast and seemed to be a bit different to Ibis. Now it's just a couple of funky paintings beyond a regular Ibis.

The hotel room is nice, staff is nice but there is NO internet signal in the room. As I was in Rio for Business and Internet is a big deal for me, I can say that I lost time and money. I couldn’t do clients follow-up and reply my emails on time.
