Terrible stay at the Novotel Leme, Rio. We reserved for 3 rooms, for 3 family with Breakfast included. Everyday, we had to fight and argue over the fact that our breakfast were included and paid for....every day. Even when they said it was fixed, on checkout day, still had to fight over it...never saw anything like that in all my years travelling. Also, elevator service is terrible..half the elevators not working..takes 15 min everytime to go up or down... Definitely not the standard expected from a 4* Novotel ! Also, the charges on my bills are higher than what it was suppose to be at booking.

Nice location, excellent breakfast (although crowdy at times). Rooms and facilities were good, the biggest drawback were the elevators which could be time consuming.

The room, facilities, breakfast and roof terrace/pool were all delightful. We’ve stayed in Novotels many times before, always been very happy customers. However, our stay was really spoiled by Reception. On arrival there was a mix up with our reservation, it had been duplicated (we had pre-paid in full). Our entire stay was overshadowed by the threat that we would be liable for the 2nd room also. The hotel insisted it could not be cancelled by them. Our travel agent went through everything several times, giving clear written confirmation of the one booking. We wasted a lot of time standing around in reception whilst staff disappeared to allegedly sort it. Nothing got done, the attitude was not helpful, basically told it was our problem. I got very upset as it was potentially a lot of money. When we did checkout, the very nice lady (we hadn’t encountered her before sadly!) on reception just said thanks, and goodbye. We apparently owed nothing. So 5 days of stress and worry for absolutely nothing. We received no explanation or apology. Very disappointing and really spoiled the final part of our trip.

Overall poor experience; rooms were not correct; rooms with children on different floors away from parents; environment not family friendly; lobby chaotic; 2 of 4 elevators broken most of stay; breakfast overcrowded; outsiders came into pool and dinner area every night 2 hours prior to closing, crowding out guests; DJ music was so loud you could hear it 2 floors down.
