We booked this hotel for a pleasant stay during a holiday in Rio. It was expected that after pandemic lockdown procedures and now reopening things would be a little crowded, no big deal. But the hotel is far away from handling maybe even lower occupancy. First of all there was no preference for ALL members, not to mention we are Gold which was even more frustating. There was no welcome drink offered, no amenities and welcome card at our room, hell we were treated like we were nobody. The hotel was having a really hard time handling the crowd, service is usually poor in Rio but standards in this hotel were even lower. We had to wait a whole lot for service at the pool, and the breakfast was a big mess, not mention the absence of croissants. The hotel reception was really rude with us and could not help us with most of our requests, in fact I am waiting for an email they asked me to send a week ago to check if they've found an item we forgot at the room. In the end I suggest not staying in this hotel, there are much better ones in Rio

The hotel itself is nice and the rooms are spacious. Also the pool-area was nice and had a perfect view towards the beach. The thing is that all is a bit dirty. At the pool-area food and cigarettes are on the ground, used glasses standing around and weren't cleared and a super rowdy crowdy party acted like animals. But the worst thing was Arlima Alves from the check in counter. It took ages till she checked us in - after a 12 h flights a no go. Making all the time promisses which she did not kept. A trully nightmare this person. We won't come back a second time for sure.

Positive: It was a nice hotel, well located and very clean with some very helpful and friendly staff including Clair who is a very helpful and beautiful person. Negatives: We were given the wrong room (inferior room) for half of the stay and only when I complained was it changed, so this affected the stay. The card didn't work on the door numerous times so I had to go down and get this fixed a lot. Also, the coffee machine didn't work and the air conditioning could be changed for a less noisy one.

It was a one day stay, but was sufficient to see the good service of the Hotel. The breakfast, employees and building was amazing. Simply a good place to have a cozy and calm time with your lover.

Disapointing for a Novotel brand.

First of all, they didn’t reply my email about a refund. Then the lobby - only one elevator to get to our 19th floor suite - it took forever. The suite was very different from the website pictures - it was in fact two standard rooms combined in one. Not a fancy feeling at all, not a single painting on the walls. The windows wouldn’t open, so we felt jailed and couldn’t feel the ocean breeze. There was no body lotion available, no bath robe, no sandals… Breakfast was OK, the food was good, but the place was crowded and hard to get to - again only one elevator connected the 19th to the 2nd floor directly. Then they didn’t service our room the next day. At night we had to go to front desk and ask for 4 bottles of spring water - they only had 2 available - unbelievable! The rooftop pool/bar was also a joke. Small, crowded and poorly serviced. As a Platinum ALL member staying 100+ nights at Accor properties in a year, this was by far my least favorite Novotel place. Wouldn’t stay again! In fact I have a reservation for December which I’m cancelling for sure. Very disapointed!

We did not receive any email from you requesting the refund, we received an email from Accor about your request and the refund comes after 45-week days currently. The windows are close because is a standard in the franchise but we have a very good exhaustion system to filter the air in the room. We have only one elevator to 19th floor because is the only floor in the build that have 6 rooms and the others we have 18 rooms. Therefore, we have four elevators going until 18th floor and one to 19th floor. We feel sorry to did not attend your expected and again we appreciate you brought your experience to our attention, please rest assured that your comments have been shared with our entire team as an effort to improve our service. Excellent experience, but sea view had to be paid extra

The room was great, all services and amenities. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Just that on Booking.com we booked a sea view and had to pay extra 30% for a suite with actual view. Also, at least the garbage could have been removed daily, that would help a lot.

Surprised that an international chain lacks English speaking staff. Especially at check in. Cockroach in the room. Over a 5 night stay housekeeping only came once despite multiple requests for housekeeping.
