I'm very happy with my stay, but I wanted to report a few maintenance issues in the room: 1. Drain Flies: There were several drain flies in the bathroom 2. Entrance Door: The entrance door was sticking and difficult to open and close, requiring extra effor. 3. Shower Leak: The shower faucet was leaking. Room 576

I was stayed at this hotel in 2024. Everything is good. I checked in with welcome gift and room upgraded. But this time, it was terrible, I would highlight the name from the front desk which are Mr. Marcelo and Mr. Vinicius. During the check out, it takes more than 30 mins due to lacking of familiarity with the check out process; I was rushed to went to the airport and caught the flight, but when I asked for help, the response from them were totally ignored and they were no polite to me maybe because I don’t speak Portuguese and also as an Asian?! Also, because of the time limitation, I was trying to ask for help from the manager or the supervisor who can help but the same response which is ignored me and with coldly watching me, I felt I was like a joker among all the guys in the lobby. I really don’t know if I am a local person or looks same as they are will make them take some more patience to me. But I also want to say the housekeeping team are not professional as well, due to I checked out, I forgot my shirts at the sideboard, but no one mentioned to me. After few days later, I found that I left them at the hotel and thanks to the team from IBIS Joinville, they helped to contact with this hotel and finally found my clothes and the most inconceivable thing was they checked the room after another guest checked out. Those was totally unexpected and unacceptable to me. And finally I trying to make things easier and take all the cost about shipping fee from this hotel to São Paulo’s Grand Mercure hotel. In summary, those whole living experiences were disastrous for me. Maybe in the future, I will not choose this hotel anymore. But maybe Mr. Marcelo and Mr. Vinicius Who from the front desk are happy to see there is an opportunity to get rid of another trouble from Asian people. PS: all the above experience are the worst that I felt, but there are some more negatives that compare with them are such as “no issues at all”.

I have stayed at this hotel for over five years. I visit Rio at least four times a year for business, and I used to ask my team to book only this hotel because it is convenient for work locations. However, service quality has been declining. Their online booking system and check-in process rarely work. The staff is rude and very slow, and they now do almost nothing to assist you. Internet service is poor, and elevators frequently break down. They try to upsell better rooms that are never available, and they never answer their phone. When you ask for clarification, they are very rude. A few of my team members are now trying the Novotel at Leme, and it's a night-and-day difference, much better service, attention, communication, and speed. And you don't get rooms with a view of a wall.
