The ladies on reception are not very friendly at all and really put a dampener on your excitement in being in Rio. Only 1 toilet in the lobby so if you want to get changed when you have come straight off your long-haul flight and cannot check-in then you have to wait 15 minutes in a queue, the lobby is also too small to feel comfortable opening your suitcase and getting what you need out of it. The room itself is basic which is fine - but it should at least be clean. However there were hairs in the groove in the mini fridge where you put your fingers to open the door, I disinfected the bathroom with my own antiseptic wipes and more dirt came off the toilet lid. The railing that held the towels were dirty. Also outside there was a very loud generator which even 9 floors up I could hear even through my very good earplugs. Bring earplugs with you and ask to change to the back of the hotel if you can as otherwise you will not sleep a wink. The breakfast food was not good - the scrambled eggs was burnt and stringy. That said it is a good location just two streets back from Copacabana Beach. I will not be back though to this hotel.

Room was clean but dated, in need of refurbishment and there was mould behind one of the fixtures. The sheets were clean but a bit damp to the touch so not comfortable for sleeping. Well located. Good breakfast.

Room not clean: several spiders and spiders net, dust, suspicious stains on the armchair Useless Wi-Fi : disconnection every 5min Bathroom with no furniture, no even a space for a toiletry bag
