I have stayed at ibis hotels before so knew what to expect. All staff were very friendly and accommodating here. There were some inconsistencies with house keeping despite requests. Walls are very thin. You can often hear people walking around above you or dogs ! Depending on your room during your stay you may not be able to open your curtain as the hotel looks on to residential houses. I would say for a short stay it does the job. If you’re staying for longer than a week I would maybe consider somewhere else. I also stayed in private hostel rooms in Rio that were maybe more accommodating for a similar price. Like I said. The staff made it worthwhile for me.

I arrived and was pleasantly surprised by a welcome gift of cookies and bottled water in my room. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. I was also granted late checkout at departure. The staff are friendlier than those at IBIS Posto 5.

Even as a platinum member unfortunately no earlier check in possible. I wanted to room only for a daily stay, because i had to leave Rio at 6 pm. But check in at 1 pm was denied, only at 3 pm possible. Not nice, hotel was not fully booked, but they did not allow me. In other accor hotels worldwide it was never a problem. Hotel need also renovation

The ladies on reception are not very friendly at all and really put a dampener on your excitement in being in Rio. Only 1 toilet in the lobby so if you want to get changed when you have come straight off your long-haul flight and cannot check-in then you have to wait 15 minutes in a queue, the lobby is also too small to feel comfortable opening your suitcase and getting what you need out of it. The room itself is basic which is fine - but it should at least be clean. However there were hairs in the groove in the mini fridge where you put your fingers to open the door, I disinfected the bathroom with my own antiseptic wipes and more dirt came off the toilet lid. The railing that held the towels were dirty. Also outside there was a very loud generator which even 9 floors up I could hear even through my very good earplugs. Bring earplugs with you and ask to change to the back of the hotel if you can as otherwise you will not sleep a wink. The breakfast food was not good - the scrambled eggs was burnt and stringy. That said it is a good location just two streets back from Copacabana Beach. I will not be back though to this hotel.

Room was clean but dated, in need of refurbishment and there was mould behind one of the fixtures. The sheets were clean but a bit damp to the touch so not comfortable for sleeping. Well located. Good breakfast.

It was a one-night stand, I was in Rio for 1 day. It seems to be well located and low-cost, but it wasn't a good call for me. The bed was not confortable (neither of them), I hit my foot with the step that leads to the bathroom (no sign of "caution" was in place), there was no shampoo available in the jar inside the shower box so I couldn't properly take my daily shower, and the door of the shower box did not close properly so the towel I had left outside was sunk before I could step on it on my way out. Breakfast was OK, but the coffee machine was out-of-order. In my experience, not good enough for the value (and I was not asking for much - just a bed and a shower).
