This was the 4th time I stayed in this property. Everytime I visit Rio it is hard for me to think about any other Hotel that offers such great location at a reasonable and affordable price. The rooms are pretty clean, with great air conditioning system, a confortable bed, good lightening (provided by the lamps and also by the natural light that comes from the large window), a safe (which is a very good thing to store the belongings you don´t want to carry with you all the time), great shower and depending on the location of your room you might even be able to have a nice view of the architecture in Copa as well as a view of the beautiful mountains of Rio. In regards to the service, I have to say how passionate I am with the staff. At the front desk I have to highlight Vinicius, Yasmin and Guilherme for their outstanding performance. As a professional from the customer experience industry I have to say that, considering it is an economic hotel, they are always making sure to deliver an upscale service and I have to leave a big THANK YOU to them for such deed. The housekeeping staff is also a team that deserves recognition, for always being with a great smile on their faces even though they´re dealing with extremely high temperatures in the summertime of Rio to clean the rooms. You are all amazing!!! I have recently noticed that, thankfully, Accor has been investing in providing more food and beverage services in their Hotels (e.g. Adagio Barra Funda in SP and now I witnessed Ibis Posto 5 RJ). So now, guests at Ibis Copacabana Posto 5, may enjoy breakfast (buffett style at fix price per person with good variety of fruits, yougurt, pastry, scrambled eggs, good coffee machine, Twinings tea, etc.), Lunch (buffett style at a fix price per person from Mondays to Thursdays), Feijoada for lunch (buffett style at a fix price per person on Fridays), Saturday lunch (a la carte) and Dinner (a la cart from Mondays to Saturdays). In my point of view I have just to bring to attention a few points that are important and caused an impact in my perception: - I truly believe that starting breakfast at 06:30am is not early enough, specially because during the summer time this year the sun rises very early and I noticed some guests waiting for the buffett to be ready so they could go to the beach or to the tours they planned. Many tours pick the guests up at the hotels very early. And I have to say that some of the days the buffett opening time was later than 06:30am.

Great location, good room amenities, kind front desk staff! The only big problem was at breakfast, everyday it was crowded and hard to find a place to seat, the staff was not agile enough to clean tables and replace food, cutlery, plates and napkins. It was New Years days so I believe the hotel was at full capacity.

Nice staff, very friendly. Breakfast nice, fair price. The problems were: - Bathroom smelling because of mold - Air conditioner turning off during the night, code CH 29 on the control panel for 5 minutes or so and the off. We had to wake up 2 to 3 times during the night to turn it on. We called reception two times about the problem, but we could tell they were already aware and could do nothing to solve it. Even so they sent a mantainance guy.

The location, nearby the beach and a subway station is a very good thing. The services and personal are the Ibis standard, except for the the breakfast. The space for the breakfast is small for the hotel size. The food options are limited and the staff is insuficcient for the quantity of meals in the morning. As an example, I would give a 10 for the breakfast at the Ibis Stopera in Amsterdam, a 8 for the breakfast at the Ibis Salvador Rio Vermelho and a 5 for the breakfast at the Ibis Copacabana Posto 5.

I'm a member of le club program. At the counter, I was offered a 50 BRL discount in case I would pay cash. Asking if I could pay the next day (I checked in very late) the answer was negative. Asking if a room in higher floors would be available, the answer was no. Arriving at the room, there were two full-body towels available. Nothing to use on the floor, no hands/face towels, one piece of soap. The service at the counter was completely unprofessional and informal.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Whilst the rooms are neither large not gorgeous, they are practical and comfortable for one or two people at most. I was staying there on business and thought it was perfect. Located right next to the underground Cantagalo, it is perfect to travel throughout Rio and/or head to the beach if you so wanted to (2 blocks away). Breakfast was very copious and yummy, with eggs, fresh fruit, yoghurt, bread etc... Service was very kind. I would return on my own without hesitation. I would not return if my family came with me, simply because of the absence of a gym or pool, or because of the size of the rooms. But that does not fault the hotel: it is perfect at what I think it aims to be: a practical, no nonsense, central, well located, base. Highly recommended on that basis

We stayed for 3 days and found the accomodations to be satisfactory. We appreciated the free breakfast that was included. We were also happy that there were English speaking employees available to communicate with at the front desk. Good job!

I travelled with my family and booked 2 rooms 6 months before my trip and i put a recommendation to stay in the same floor. According to the attendent the hotel was crowded, then because of it was impossible stayed in the same floor. Also, there were no proper room, due it they put us in a disability room in a bad situation (lamps did not work, toilet leak, shower broked, with no bedding), terrible service. The another issue was because disability has low height for things, such as mirror, sink, bed, etc... and i have 1,83m height. I just want to let you know, in order to it is not happening anymore with someone that tried to have a good weekend with her / his family, but was not possible due to the horrible experience into a Ibis hotel.

The breakfast is small not a lot of choice for food. I went outside every morning to get something better.. I used to arrive in thé breakfast around 9h30-10h lot of table dirty not cleaned. Under staffed! And when they ask you your room number, they don t understand english! I had to give the number in spanish.. room not well insonorized and i still longue hair on the floor from the previous guest.. The only 2 things very positive in your hôtel.. is the location and the staff front office very friendly. I dont remember the name of the girl who did my check out she was really good, professional and smiling and we had a talk about kpop (she Will recognize herself )

Ibis is no more than adequate and this is what it intends to be. Bedrooms are not big but large enough to be comfortable.Maintenance and cleanliness are commendable. Glaucia took very good care of my room, adjusting cleaning time to the hours I would be out. Not much toiletries but always replaced. Do not expect a five star breakfast, but I found there all I want for breakfast, including a delicious freshly made pão de queijo. Fast check-in, fast check-out, great location, few steps from the metro station, three blocks from the beach, all shops one may need almost by the door.

I have stayed many times at ibis posto 5. I insisted because location and friendly staff. The food needs an upgrade and the rooms... oh God, there was mold in every room. I asked to clean, but needs a major clean.
