We were not terribly impressed. When we arrived we were given a room which hadn’t been cleaned. Then a room which was only for one, so we had to ask for extra towels etc. The receptionist who dealt with us was hardly apologetic and rather brusque. We had chosen this hotel as it was the last night of a 3 week holiday and decided to treat ourselves, but despite it being the most expensive hotel, it was the worst in terms of quality and service. It was the only one to give paper cups in the room and no milk. However, the restaurant was excellent both for dinner and breakfast.

Being assigned an uncleaned room upon arrival is unacceptable, and we deeply regret the inconvenience and disappointment this caused — especially as this was the final night of your three-week holiday, a moment that should have been relaxing and special. We also sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding your room type and for the additional requests you had to make. This should have been seamless. We are equally concerned to hear about the interaction you had at reception. Courtesy, warmth, and attentiveness are fundamental to us, and we are very sorry if you felt anything less than genuinely welcomed and cared for. Regarding the in-room amenities, we understand how details such as proper glassware and milk can significantly impact comfort and perceived quality. Your comments are being taken very seriously and shared with the relevant teams, as they do not align with the experience we aim to deliver, particularly given our pricing and positioning. That said, we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the restaurant, both for dinner and breakfast. We will be sure to pass along your kind words to our culinary team. Please accept our heartfelt apologies once again. We truly regret that we did not provide the memorable and indulgent final evening of your holiday that you were hoping for. My room was worn out. Dirty carpet. Visible electrical wire. Plinths scrambled. Restaurant however was good. And staff was OK.
