Disappointing, poor value for money

Over-priced considering the poor condition of the room and bathroom. It felt like being in a half-finished room. Poor state of the balcony (cracks, rust), visible pipes, no USB charging points, over-crowded breakfast area.

The hotel is very centrally located in Orleans, but getting there was very straightforward. As the underground car park was closed due to construction work, we had to use the closed outdoor car park. The reception was very professional and friendly. Our room was functionally furnished, but nothing more. However, the view of the Loire from the 5th floor was brilliant. On the next morning, however, we had to move because construction noise one floor above us made it impossible to stay. We therefore moved from one of the top floors to the first floor. It remained unclear to us why the reception had allocated this room in the first place. The hotel was not full. The second room was slightly smaller than the first, but just as sober. But the construction noise caught up with us here too. You could also hear the roaring car traffic around the hotel very clearly. The breakfast experience was annoying. In the very pleasant and spacious breakfast room, several young ladies worked very listlessly and slowly. The buffet then only had achafing dish filled with scrambled eggs The chafing dish for bacon was empty, while the other two contained a tomato and a sausage. This did not change on request and looked almost similar on the second day; however, there were a few sausages. Otherwise, the selection and quality were not good either.

Have stayed here before and liked the Hotel for its position in the town , but we picked this hotel mainly because of its pool and sundeck area. This year the pool and sundeck have been refurbished . Fine BUT ! here the problem with this stay began . We originally planned to stay a week earlier but were unable for travel reasons so visited a week later. When we arrived we asked about parasols be the pool as we do like to rest by the pool reading and do not wish to get seriously sunburnt. We were informed that the Hotel did not have and parasols because the pool area had only just reopened . This way very disappointing as during our last stay. During our previous stay there were plenty and as we like shade on hot days we are somewhat dismayed that there none at all now. Building work ! The hotel had drilling work and noise during the day ( refurbishment I suspect) no warning was given about this . The pool area had only opened the day before we arrived , we sincerely wonder if we would have been informed about this before we booked if we had arrived as planned a week earlier.
