We based out five day Istanbul trip at the Fairmont Quasar hotel, the service and facilities across the board were remarkably good. We were concerned about the location when looking at a map, but once we worked out the metro (with the help of the excellent hotel concierge) we found that accessing the whole city became a breeze.
