The stay was the same as usual Decent and the hotel does the job The only issue was checking in Tired after flight delays and uncertainty about cancellation due to the issues with Iran etc All I wanted was to be able to check in and get some good rest Upon arrival we were told that systems are down and we were unable to check in It took a whole hour before we were seen to I found this shocking to say the least

The primary advantage of staying at the Swissôtel Al Maqam is the significantly improved transit experience compared to other properties in the Clock Tower. The hotel features two internal elevator banks exclusive to its guests, which drastically reduces the wait times that usually plague this building. While this does mean the walk to the Haram is slightly further than some neighboring towers, the ease of getting in and out of the hotel makes it a very fair trade-off. Our stay began on a high note when we were granted a room upgrade due to my Accor Gold status. The room offered a perfect, unobstructed view of the Haram, which truly added to the spiritual experience of the trip. However, this positive start was dampened in the evening when we received a formal notice stating that, due to the hotel being overbooked, we were required to check out strictly at 12:00 PM to avoid additional charges. It appeared this notice was sent to every room without any consideration for elite status. For a Gold member who typically expects a bit more flexibility, or at least a more personalized communication regarding late checkout, this felt like a significant service gap. Regarding the dining, the breakfast was certainly high-quality and enjoyable, though it didn't quite reach the level of the spread at the Mövenpick Makkah. The variety was notably smaller in comparison, which is something to keep in mind if you are choosing between the two based on culinary experience. Overall, while the logistics and views are superior at Al Maqam, the service lacks that extra touch of status recognition that truly defines a premium stay. It’s a solid choice for its efficiency, but there is definitely room for improvement in how they manage their loyal guests during peak periods.
