As a family looking for a comfortable environment to rest and enjoy the half term, Lucknam Park was ideal. The facilities were superb and staff were very profesionnal. We took advantage of the spa twice, both restaurants and while we had booked an equestrian experience that got cancelled because of the weather, we still visited the stables where the staff were lovely. David at Howey Jones was the greatest and made that evening meal an experience. 3 areas of possible improvements: we stayed 5 days 4 nights and had breakfast and dinner on site everyday. 1. Dinners at the walled garden were very long - One evening my son hadnt ordered a starter like the rest of us and waited 1 hour to get his main. He was starving, he should have been asked if he wanted to received his dish with the starter. On average each evening meal was over 2 h. 2. It felt quite impersonnal, despite being there for that amount of time it seemed like they didnt know us everytime we showed up. It's a shame because this is the kind of establisment I would consider coming back to. 3. the last night we were woken up by a fire alarm at 5am. while someone from the hotel checked on the room above us and reassured us it was a false alarm, there was no formal apology in the morning. In an hotel of this quality I would have expected something in the morning.

1. 1* restaurant served good food. Some of the service was a little awkward. 2. Rooms were nice, but a little tired for the price. Not having smart TV was unusual for a hotel of this standard. 3. Walled Garden restaurant very nice, relaxed setting and great food and service. 4. Breakfasts were outstanding. So much choice. A great start to the day. Staff were great. 5. Spa probably is what justifies the high cost. A very nice spa, with a number of sauna type rooms. Really nice pool, jacuzzi and outdoor pool. 6. Great turndown service - bedtime tea with little jar of honey and chocolates. 7. Great cocktails, really knowledgeable cocktail waiter and very well made. 8. Younger members of staff in particular were, well trained, attentive and professional. 9. Lovely public rooms, blazing open fires, board games, magazines and Lakers etc.

We sincerely apologise for the awkwardness at reception where, I believe, some gift vouchers were presented. As the vouchers were recently purchased and not “active” on our system, the team member had to seek a manual solution to process these. We regret that this caused a confusing delay and made you feel unwelcome. We have also noted your comments regarding the bedroom décor and the 1* restaurant service for our internal improvements. Stayed two nights for my wife's birthday. Superb few days from beginning to end. Staff could not do enough for you. Ate in the Walled Garden, the service and food was first rate. The Spa was peaceful and relaxing. Turndown service in the room was the best we have ever receieved. Hotel and grounds amazing but need to go back and explore more as there is so much to see.

Amazing. The staff make the visit!!! The attention to detail and the care given by the staff was brilliant. The Spa is fantastic and the food is beautiful. Lucknam has redefined 5* hospitality for me.
